Well this is my first time with WBS so like any virgin I am making fun but messy mistakes
:smile: HA!

anyway, they are not messy....I have 4Q jars of WBS growing some nice mycelium

but since I am new to this .....before I even saw growth, I was shaking lightly without thinking about how it might effect things, I was trying to see the first signs of growth
STUPID I know

anyway.......at one point I thought...."well WBS is quick and this took a long time, I dont think its going to work"
So I unpluged the heater, and the day I went to throw them out I saw the growth I speak of:)

And it seems that its REALLY SPREAD out already, so there is no point int shaking even though some jars seem to be at 50% aye???

I think my foolish shaking already helped me there :smile:?
what do you think???

Also I plan to case with Striaght Coir ,OR, 60\40 verm coir
whats best

The shaking won't really help unless you can actually mix up the substrate -- I don't see how this is possible if the jar is full.

Someone swore that shaking a jar every day helps to speed things up, but constantly fucking with your jars is a good way to contaminate them.

Edit -- I didn't see quart jars the first time -- if there's room for air you could probably break it up, but it's a pain in the ass.

Just my take.

I read in one of the TEKs to sharke the jars immediately after inoculation. So, that is what I did. Growth started out thin, but started all over. In the end it took <2 weeks to completely colonize my whole 7/8 filled jars.

shake after innoc..... shake when u got 5% colon....last shake when it's 50% colon...

works perfec for me.... !
