Have you ever used marijuana as medecine? If so, for what and which symptoms did it alleviate?

If you could spot one specific situation where you smoked weed to help with a sickness, please tell us your experience.

How effective was weed in your situation?


Right now I have a pinched nerve between the C6 and C8 on the left side of my spine. Its like a needle in my back. I took a few hits and now I feel better... Not because it stops the pain, but because it distracts me from it. Maybe a little muscle relaxation, but I still feel tense..

I used it to put me to sleep. Didn't work very well. If I did go to sleep I woke up in like 2 hours. It did make me eat though. I used it to jack off. Sometimes I used it to relax me. Just a low dose is a good relaxer. Sometimes I'd use it to stay calm in school. Sitting around all day sober would get me anxious. The problem with that is if I got high enough to last the entire school day I couldn't get any work done. I used it to brighten a boring day when I didn't want to do anything. A moderate dose will make your day great as long as you have food and if you don't do too much you can still be productive.

I've used it for insomnia, generally it's because I have back problems and chronic migraines. It's a good stress reliever. Like you said though, it's more a distraction than anything. To be honest there are situations where pot makes the pain worse.

I tried to use it for toothache. Front tooth had an infected nerve and I was constantly popping t-3's for the pain but they quickly stopped helping so I decided to smoke a bowl to see if it helped...
BAD IDEA! Because it was a very sharp throbbing pain, the only thing my mind would do while high was focus on just how bad that pain was and ended up exaggerating it for the duration of my high.

I've been using it all day for my appendicitis. It helps with inflammation and pain.

It makes me more sensitive which CAN make me feel worse, but usually it takes my mind off of anything I'm dealing with. Oh yeah, I have cannabis to thank for the fact that I haven't puked all day It really helps get rid of nausea unless you've been drinking.

Weed helps for superficial pain. Bruising, cuts, swelling, headaches, anything you can distract yourself from.

yes, when i smashed my finger a few weeks ago.  My friend that was there insisted i take a toke and it did alleviate some of the pain and feel somewhat better, lol  then i went into shock tho.  god that was hell.

I messed up my knee after hiking to the top of a mountain and stopping myself down a hill on a longboard, it would hurt with each step.
I put a handful of some cbd cream on it and within hours all the pain was gone and i was good as new.:awesome:

And weed is always great for nausea and helps you eat.
Nothing like munching out on some good food all stoney!

I've used it for headaches, minor pain, stress relief, and help with sleeping.

I've used it for pain in the legs/knees. Works great for that.

I also find it the positive psychological change to be medicinal because of the associated stress relief.

Pretty much the same situation here.  My back is screwy, not debilitating, but painful.      It doesn't seem to fix the pain so much as it seems to increase my pain tolerance.  Perhaps it's the same thing?  I'm not sure.
