"The theories of evolution and the Big Bang are real and God is not “a magician with a magic wand”, Pope Francis has declared.

Speaking at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the Pope made comments which experts said put an end to the “pseudo theories” of creationism and intelligent design that some argue were encouraged by his predecessor, Benedict XVI.

Francis explained that both scientific theories were not incompatible with the existence of a creator – arguing instead that they “require it”.

“When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. But that is not so,” Francis said.

He added: “He created human beings and let them develop according to the internal laws that he gave to each one so they would reach their fulfilment. "

The catholic church had accepted the Big Bang in the 1920s and evolution in the 1950s. Pope John Paul the Second stated that evolution was proven fact. Francis is simply reiterating because it seems like the entire world just wants to lump catholics in with everyone else just to have a hate orgy for no reason. I'm not even religious and I can see this happening.

Its evangelicals that don't believe in evolution and big bang. (the majority of american christians are evangelical though, i'll give you that)

Evolution is not a proven fact.  The majority of your non spoon fed teachers and non agendized scientists will attest to that.  Nowhere in the fossil record can it be proven.  "Adaptation to change", maybe.  But evolution is still, just a theory.

A theory that gets blown out of the water everyday mind you.  Its an agenda like alot of things you see pumped on the news or in schools toward kids, and young adults who if they dont accept what theyre being told wont pass the test and further advance their career.

all evolution does is get taught in science class cause its the only theory that we've been able to find repeatable results to back up. As far as a creationism, every where you go in the world you have a different story, so we teach them in cultures/religion class. There is no agenda being forced down your throat. If anything teachers don't give a shit what kids learn. And what do you mean it gets blow out of the water every day?

There is a difference.  Adaptation to change is I grow callouses on my feet from walking barefoot on concrete, or my skin gets darker from sun exposure.  Nowhere in the fossil record has a dinosaur become a bird.  MANY fakes have been offered up but its like looking for bigfoot, all the evidence has been debunked as frauds..

No, what you're talking about it a simple cause and affect...

Ever heard of the finches on the Galapagos islands? That's adaptation. Multiple adaptations over time completely changing a species to a whole different kind of species is evolution.

evolution doesn't claim dinosaurs turned into birds. it claims that the birds of today came from different birds that were around when dinosaurs where around. 250 million years ago isn't that much in the evolutionary time scale. Damn someone is salty they failed a bio exam. no he didn't!!!!!
