So, you think the president of the US can shut down commercial air traffic in West Africa? He doesn't have jurisdiction over the rest of the world, you know. You need to source your claim.

BTW - Here is a graph of how often the word EBOLA was used on the Internet this year in the US.

I may be dying from Ebola, but the Lions just got a touchdown.

A note from my very smart friend- if you spend all your time worried about dying from Ebola, you're already dead. That's not living.

Don't even get me started on jesse jackson.... This whole thing is just starting to piss me off. Serious disease, and people are fucking around. If I had any position of power such as president all flight would of been halted long ago. I will be extra pissed if this spreads and I catch it.

You think the president has the power to stop flights from leaving west Africa? Ha. Gimme a break.

He can shut them down from coming to America and he can order monitoring of anybody transferring to a US bound flight.
Quote:
The only solution to this problem is to stop the outbreak in west Africa. Until you eliminate the human reservoir for the virus, there will be cases popping up in the US no matter what measures are put into place. Resources should be directed at stopping the chain of transmission in West Africa.

And everywhere else.  Until then they should be quarantined.

Note the bump in April?  Kind of puts the lie to your argument that it was ignored until Americans got it.

I'm pretty sure the hospital is all sealed off and people are wearing nuclear holocaust suits and stuff. There's probably a 3 stage perimeter too. I didn't really read the news about it but I'm pretty sure that's whats going on

The hospital fucked this up multiple times. It needs to be rectified, and any other Ebola patients should be sent to one of the other hospitals that actually handle Ebola properly.

Nobody knew he had ebola and he lied about having had contact with an ebola victim while in Liberia, his home country.  Are we supposed to shut down every hospital when somebody comes in with a fever.  Don't forget it would be racist to profile a Negro who speaks with an African accent.

Shut down, no.....but he should've never been discharged with a 103 fever, and he told the nurse that he had flown in from Liberia. He should've been quarantined immediately. It's not like this comes as a surprise to a hospital. They fucked up big time.

It seems they did but that's nothing unusual.

No it's not. In fact, Ebola is far less infectious than HIV and the two are very comparable in terms of how each disease is transmitted.

now to address this pile of shit

the guy spreading ebola will die long before the guy with HIV will, so the
potential for spreading HIV is greater, with HIV you need sexual contact,
with ebola a handshake can be all that's required but if you contrack eboa
and live 10 days that limits the number of people you can spread it it, with
HIV you can spread the shit for years before you even know you have it.

mumps, measles, chicken pox and the like, parents actually take their kids
to catch it, that increases it's likelihood of spread
