Georgia Mushrooms: Gymnopus Confluens, Reishi+snail, Gerronema strombodes.
    #20552426 -

Alright, these were found over the past week in the middle of Georgia.

1.)First we have an old Ganoderma, which i named grandaddy:

2.)These Clitocybe?? were the most abundant i have seen all week. I thought they were pretty beautiful so I had a photo shoot.

3.)Originally I thought I had found a cordycep with the smaller ones but i found the big one yesterday night and changed my mind.

4.)I think these are really cool. I cant find anything that looks like them. I originally thought they could be Psilocybe at a distance but my excitement ended quickly.

5.)This Bolete was really waxy on the lower stem. It was growing on hardwood chips. I did'nt have a knife so no noted bruising.

annnnnnnd as promised!

haha, I was refraining on clicking on this at work bc of the 'naked chicks' lol

Your suspected clitocybes are Gerronema strombodes

Canary yellow ones are Leucocoprinus birnbaumii.

I'm anxious to see what people think of those pale wood lovers. I was thinking maybe Gymnopus sp or Lyophyllum but I can't put my finger on it and I'm in a meeting so I can't cross reference.

There are some spots where the context of the Ganoderma shows through. I think you may find if you go back it was a conifer. The context is white it looks like, which would normally be indicative of G.tsugae. I have recently read however that G.tsugae doesn't like the heat and that southern collections of Ganoderma tsugae especially if they are found on pine as opposed to hemlock should be called G.meredithiae. I have not figured out yet how to distinguish the two other than by their location and tree host. I would be interested in seeing a cross section.

Alright dude. Im hiking back in tomorrow. That tree is a monster I normally would not expect conifers to be that big. I know for sure it was not a pine. Hemlock is a possibility. I am hardly a tree expert though.
