Northeastern Alabama ID Request (#2)

Specimen #1:

Habitat: Found Growing in a cow pasture in Northeastern Alabama, USA.The altitude is approximately: 900 feet above sea level. It was found living in grass taller than the specimen in question. (Grass estimated 2-6 inches.) The substrate would presumably be the fertilized ground from a cow patty once laid, due to no trees being too close to the area of finding.


Gills: The gills looked like a mixture of black/purple. The gills are attached to the stem. The gills are seemingly adnate.


Stem: The stem was a faded, cream color, much like the cap's perimeter. It also had a purple colored skirt. It's diameter was an estimated 1 centimeter at most, and its length is around 6 centimeters. The texture of the inner stem was string-like. The specimen seems to have a hollow stem. It also appears to be rather thin.


Cap: A golden color residing at the center of the cap, then fading to a cream color as you look toward its perimeter. Other than being slightly slimy, the texture had no notable features. The cap's diameter is approximately 5 centimeters. The cap is seemingly convex.


Spore print color: Presumably a purple/black color. This is presumed due to its purple/black colored veil. (A photo of this will be added of this as soon as possible.)


Bruising: The mushroom's stem bruised blue shortly after it was damaged/injured. (Around 5-10 minutes, which took longer than last time.)


Other information: It was found on Tuesday, September 9th, 2014. It was found and picked around 10:30 P.M. It also rained the day of finding. I also should note that there was a slightly farinaceous odor produced from the mushroom. (The best way I can describe the smell it that is was 'earthly' and 'natural'.) This specimen was also found growing gregariously by a younger fruiting body.


[Pretty sure that this particular specimen, like my first I.D. request, is a Psilocybe Cubensis. Just can't be too certain when it comes to mushroom identification.]
