introspective expression VS. more reactive expression
    #20509077 -

when on a manic high, i tend to not care as much about putting a lot of thought into what i'm saying.  when i'm on a low, i put more time and introspection into it.  overall, i don't see one as being better than the other because they both serve different purposes.  one is more fun and gets me into more conversations and the other is more grounded and sensible.

is there a divide like this for you guys who aren't manic/bipolar?  do you still fluctuate between these two different modes of expression, just not as intensely?  or does it feel pretty much all the same/leveled out?

Yeah, I fluctuate too, I think most people do. When i'm feeling down, or less confident, i'll make sure to put a lot of thought in what i'm saying, but when i'm feeling good, or more reactive, i'll say whatever the fuck I want, which can land me in trouble if i'm with the wrong people, or at the same time, do good things around the right people.

there's times I just don't want to deal with any details (tired/ depressed maybe), and other times that I say "bring it on" (energetic/ attentive).

I am always introspective even if manic

i remember being more introspective when manic & the energy was expressed differently... in a way that i kind of miss.  maybe it's because of carelessness.  a vipassana retreat might be what i could use.
