Magick and Mushrooms * 1

Well it's been a while since I've done shrooms and since I got my first flush I've been wanting to use my mushrooms in a more ritualistic setting. So basically what I want to do is integrate the psychedelic experience with ritual magick and document the results. I'm going to start off simple at first possibly doing something along the lines of sigil magick but I'm going to move on to more complex procedures like evocation. I understand that since I will be loosing control of the situation by taking shrooms it may escalate into something dangerous but I think this could be a key to transfiguration. The greater the risk, the greater the reward, right? If your a koetting fan, I've always wondered what the invocation of darkness or working through the Kingdoms of Flame would be like on shrooms. Feedback would greatly be appreciated.

I've seen some crazy results with voodoo on acid. In your case I could see the shrooms helping you get in the zone. It could also make you freak out. My magickal experiences have always been enhanced while on a psychedelic

A threshhold dose enhances your astral vision and can put you in the zone. It can be highly beneficial especially for your evocations and spirit communication. Any kind of high dose will destroy your energy and concentration you need for any magickal operation. But I think you should push it to the limit and see what works and what doesn't for yourself. :cheers:

I advise you not to touch voodoo unless you are regularly initiated into the current by a houngan or bokor. I meddled and dabbled with voodoo spirits and the blowback was pretty bad. I actually called a voodoo god into a regular seance to communicate with and attempt to become possessed and was given an angry greeting and stern warning in words and visions not to continue or I'd be slain.  :uhoh:  Legba said it has been done a certain way for thousands of generations and that it is only in the traditional way that they can be approached. In retrospect I'm glad he was so stern as a gentle response would have been interpreted as a success of some sort and I may have let off the pin of a lethal hand grenade through my ignorance with further experiments.

If you want to dabble stick your feet in kabbalah or candle magic. I won't touch voodoo again unless I find a true mentor to initiate me properly and in the traditional manner. The Loa are NOT to be dabbled with or they very well may just slay you for your insolence. And I'm referring to Rada white voodoo gods, not even the darker Petro Lords.

I have never wanted to dabble in voodoo. I was more mentioning that I've seen it. I was tripping with some people and they did a voodoo ritual around me. They figured I wouldn't notice because we were all tripping, but I did notice. It was some crazy shit..

Where can I get started with Kabbalah or candle magick? I read all this stuff online but what I really need is a mentor of sorts because with all the cult activity Ive seen out here I've yet to receive an invite :l

There are some pretty good books to get started with. Mastering Witchcraft by Paul Huson and Modern Magick By Donald Kraig come to mind as well as Initiation into Hermetics by Franz Bardon. After you work through books like those you can fit right in with any coven or ritual magic group. If you want a coven to teach you you can contact one through witchvox.com, although they may be just fluff wiccans for the most part. I have an enourmous collection of ebooks I torrented, so there's no need go go spending all your money, save that for your ritual supplies. :cheers:

I'm fortunate to be a member of a coven of grey witches which practices a lot of evocation as well as traditional witchcraft and old fashioned seances too. We actually introduce people to what we do through letting them participate in the seances and feeling them out to see if they may be ready for the more hardcore stuff.

I was thinking about doing the necessary energy work before I peak. In regards to this I know it will come down to timing but I think it will yield interesting results. The evocation ritual I do usually takes about an hour, before I get to the point or part when the spirit manifests. If I can time it just right, I'm sure it will be intense especially if I can make my thoughts loop about the spirit I'm evoking.

There's a lot of great books out there that will get you started on both candle magick and kabbalah. If you're interested check out Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic by Thomas Karlsson. It's a great read but I wouldn't recommend trying this stuff if you're new to magick. For me a good author to start with that covers all of the basics, would be Konstantinos. Especially his Nocturnal Witchcraft series. For me his work isn't dangerous and you're not jumping into anything that could cause some backlash.

Also if you're interested check out becomealivinggod.com. Koetting is a great author concerning candle magick and evocation. His site has all of his books on pdf format for like 20 bucks a piece. If you're interested in his work the two best books to start with is Evoking Eternity and Works of Darkness. Which covers candle magick and Summoning Spirits.

A mentor is good and all but you really don't need one. I recommend doing as much research as possible.

What he said.

As far as dealing with the darker side of spirituality (aka evoking demons a la Koetting, etc.), I would suggest a low dose of Datura Stramonium in combination with Cannabis over magic mushrooms.  The former are far more suited towards the spiritual Shadows than the latter; also I have had great experience with evocation in tandem with Amanita Muscaria in the past.

I think a threshold dose would be ok to get you in the zone I have been studying wicca for a while and would hate for anything to go wrong in a evocation because I am by myself, have tried to contact groups on witchvox but alas they are far away and I have to work a lot, be careful though man there is nasty stuff out there, maybe at least find one other person to help you out while you do anything under the influence,
  That being said it would be awesome to feel the energy that gets built up while taking shrooms that would be a real buzz good luck and be careful. Also imagine a threshold dose of dmt wow that would be crazy do not think it would work unless you had people helping you out. :mushroom2:

I'm not worried about any sort of backlash. The spirits or demons that I would evoke and work with under the influence are ones that I've built a working relationship with through countless evocations. It's all a matter of curiosity for me regarding this. I think one would have to be under the influence of some kind of psychedelic to experience something as beholdable as Crowley did when he jumped into the Triangle of Manifestation and literally wrestled with the demon Choronzon. I don't intend on doing what Crowley did, but I want to take evocation to another level by experimenting with this. Anyways, I will be trying this out soon.
