mushrooms/truffles near Amsterdam?

me and a friend are in Antwerp, Belgium..

my friend want to try mushrooms/truffles

any idea on how to find mushrooms/truffles in Antwerp?

or to find any closes place that would have them Rotterdam?

any advice?

You can buy truffles in shops IN Amsterdam for sure, I'm not sure for the surrounding areas. Truffles are definitely worth trying, far better for an initial experience than mushies. If you're more social I'm sure if you ask around you can get more than that. I've known a few guys who have backpacked or been through the area and the acid is supposed to be top notch around there. All the acid I've ever had has been from the area and I can say for sure I've never had bad stuff.

The whole country (Netherlands) has the same legislation in this regard, so any major city (e.g. Rotterdam or The Hague) is an option for OP. Perhaps you can be successful in the border towns that are even easier to reach by train as well. Every sizable city (>100k inhabitants) tends to have at least one smart shop.

Step 1: Go to Amsterdam.
Step 2: Look for a smartshop with a mushroom sign, mushroom statues or other mushroom related imagery.
Step 3: Trip.

EDIT: OK. I read Amsterdam, but you said Antwerp. Sorry.

Here's a new tip: go to the city of Goes in Zeeland (Netherlands), it's like an hour drive from Antwerp.
Look for the coffeeshop named High Life, they sell truffles and mushroom growkits.
