Thank you for extending to me the invitation to express a bit of what goes through my mind here.

So Geokills, you've now been one of the Shroomery's administrators for a few months now. How does it feel?

First off, if I had to deal with this much in a few months - I would likely have long retired. As it turns out, I've been an administrator here for almost 8 months now and though the seas get rough at times, I feel a certain satisfaction that I am in fact helping keep this community stay true to its mission and as free of disturbances as is humanly possible. I always try to encourage members to contact me if they have problems with the community, or just problems in general. I'm here to help and get help :tongue2:

Are there any perks to being an admin? If so, what kind?

There are some benefits in addition to the many costs. Obviously, I've been entrusted to deal with some sensitive information which I always hold in the strictist confidence. It feels good when people are comfortable enough to put their trust in you. Of course, I also get my own nifty geo@shroomery.org email address (I'll be expecting tons of fan mail :wink:

) in addition to being able to ban the bastards around here - though thankfully there aren't too many.

Tell us the truth about Thor. Anything's fine. Let's get some dirt on this administrator who has now become famous for loving us then leaving us on repeated occassions.
I gotta say that Viking is one clean mofo. Can't say there's much if any dirt on him - and even if there were to be, it would be of such a non threatening nature that it is not even worth bringing up given all the time and good he has put in here. I think the following picture should sum it all up:

Since the beginning, my favorite emoticon has been the cool guy. He's got a good attitude :cool:

Who's the most pesky member around these parts?

I don't like to point fingers, but we've had our share in the legacy. I suppose I can tell you that theshiftingwalls will be comin' back from his week-long mandatory vacation tomorrow evening :grin:

Any word on what happened with BiO? Also, what's the latest on PF?

Couldn't tell you what happened with BiO - PF is in a world of hurt, not sure exactly how it has been progressing since he pleaded guilty.

What's your opinion on the future of Psilocybe Mushroom spores? Will things eventually come to a full hault or will business go on?

I think it is too early to tell for sure, but I also believe the outlook is quite grim. Many vendors are taking steps to ensure their products are not being used for illegal purposes, so with any luck Uncle Sam won't feel like bullying the legitamate entrepreneur (like they did with glass :thumbdown:

). Rest assured that regardless of the fate of our beloved spores, the Shroomery will live on :sun:

Are there any new updates going on for the Shroomery in the very near future?

Well, with the upcoming update of the UBBthreads software, we will hopefully be able to implement our member-supported sponsorship accounts which will give users many new features such as SSL encrypted connections, an email account, along with different board options and many other additional features. No existing features will be taken away from non-paying members, only new ones will be offered for those who wish to contribute. This will be a great acomplishment if sucessful, as hosting fees are constantly on the rise and due to recent events, some solid vendors are up and leaving the game. Thankfully, we consistently get more people willing to advertise on our site - but those revenues can only support us for so long as we continue to grow.
