Urgent apprenticeship help *carpentry*

Guy rang and told me I have a carpentry apprenticeship trial. Said to wear work clothes? Any other tips on how to secure this job and look employable (im not exactly the best employee :/)

Just be teachable and if you don't understand what their saying ask for help. It's much better to ask a question than make a costly mistake. I'd wear jeans, long sleeve shirt, and boots.

The basic tools you would need are pencil, hammer, tape measure, square, level, and maybe a plumb line if your working with screws instead of nails you would need drill with extra Phillip tips I don't know if they would provide you with those tools you should call and ask . They should have saws for you. If they provide you with all your tools that's cool but it's always cool to have your own, they do come in handy

~Don't run your mouth too much on the job site.
~Don't fuck up the coffee break order.:smirk:
~Don't be late in the morning, or coming back from lunch.
~Be prepared to work, sometimes hard. Who do you think is going to carry all that Sheetrock and 3/4 ply up to the 4th floor?
You're gonna need a toolbelt...

Some of the work is going to be very hard and aggravating. Don't whine about it. Always show up early.

Sounds like a good job. Carpenters definitely know how to party.

You forgot a set of nail sets for finish nails and at least a torpedo level. By plumb line did you mean a chalk line or a plumb bob? Oh and a flat bar comes in handy.

Prepare your lunches the night before, pack meals with high protein content
Wear shitty jeans, boots if you have them, and a ratty t shirt
Invest in a case of 5 hour energy shots
Prepare to sweat your ass off

Those jobs are great, except for the fact that your trading the longevity of your body for money
I used to do carpeting, which is different, but similar in culture

I love physical labor jobs. If it were up to me i'd work one on the side (in addition to my desk job) for like 10-15 hours a week, just because it keeps me agile.
