Is anyone else horrified of all the chemicals in soap/shampoo?

On the ingredients list for head and shoulders:

Active ingredient: Pyrithione zinc 1%

Inactive ingredients: water, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, cocamide MEA, zinc carbonate, glycol distearate, dimethicone, fragrance, cetyl alcohol, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, magnesium sulfate, sodium benzoate, magnesium carbonate hydroxide, ammonium laureth sulfate, benzyl alcohol, sodium chloride, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, sodium xylenesulfonate, blue 1, red 4

I am a little. I'm looking into buying some organic hemp based shampoo. Anyone have any experience with nature's gate hemp nourishing shampoo?

So use a "natural" shampoo instead. Alternately, you could put in a bit of effort and learn about what those specific chemicals are and whether or not there is anything to be concerned about. A long unpronounceable name does not necessarily mean a chemical is dangerous to put on your skin.

Most of these chemicals are detergents and you have absolutely nothing to fear from them so far as you have nothing to fear when you wash your hands with soap. They will not absorb into your skin.

You can buy pretty awesome, cheap, nice scented natural bar shampoos online all over the place if the more commercial ones scare you. I have this great nag champa scented one, it's some serious hippy shit but who cares it's great and only cost like $3 or something :lol:
I don't really use it though, my scalp gets too try if I don't use shampoos for dandruff.

Not really when you know why they're in there.

What alternative do you suggest? I bet there's chemicals in them, nature is built of chemicals.

I've never heard of any problems as a result of using commercial shampoos. They have been used by many people all over the world for many years.

All I meant was, a lot of products have some questionable ingredients.

It's been like that for years, and years and years again. It's nothing new.

Just avoid it if it bothers you.

You don't even need shampoo or soap, if you eat good you won't smell like a b-hole. :shrug:
