removing vocals from music

you can't, really, from a piece of recorded music. as far as I know, you can't select one part from a soundwave and mute it, because it's all been mixed down to one wave.

soundforge w/ AnalogX vocal remover and Waves X-noise (both of which are Direct X Plugins

I usually use these plugins to take the music out of the vocals, but I think they'll work the other way around too.

I know that when I had one of those casette thingies that pluged itself on a cd player earphone plug, sometimes one of the tracks would slip and you'de either only hear the voice or the music.

yeah, most studios put vocal tracks exclusively on the center channel, I think. If your stereo malfunctions and only puts out the center channel, you might only hear the vocals
