Psilocybe cubensis "Golden Teachers" on cracked corn

Golden Teacher on Cracked Corn

2 Quarts of Cracked Corn were spawned with some BRF started from
multispore. Tyvek was used for air exchange.

Preparation:
CC was simmered for 20 minutes, strained and drained. Pressure Cooked for 90 Minutes.

After full colonization, the mycelia was put into a small tray, and cased with 50/50 (5 parts peat/5 parts verm, 1/4 parts limestone flour, 1/2 part limestone grit) The casing was incubated for 2 days, and put into the fruiting chamber at 30% colonization of the casing layer. The casing layer was watered for 2 days after the pins appeared.

Fruiting Conditions:
95% RH, 3 air exchanges an hour, temp at a constant 72F, given a 12/12 light cycle, with a light peaking in the blue spectrum.

Second flush: pins 2 days after 1st flush.


12 hours later.


Harvested: 90 Grams Wet :smile:


I noticed that they grew alot during the start of the light cycle, and they also seemed to grow -really- fast right after the light was turned off.

that's only 90 wet grams? it looks like it is more than that, but maybe the tray is just small or something.

Yes, only 90 wet grams, its a pretty small tray though. I dont know the dimension out the top of my head. I ended up getting 14 grams dried of this casing. Not to shabby in my opinion. I hope my WBS will fruit better though.
