Computer fan as drying source
    #1998549 -

Hi, I was thinking about using a computer fan to dry my mush and than use deccicant (sp) but im not sure how to run a computer fan outside of a computer let alone inside. I think I have 1 or 2 in my basement I think they might have 1 red wire and 1 black wire (or something like that). Anyways my question is does anyone know how to run a computer fan? Ive heard of it being used as a drying source somewhere so im pretty sure its possible.

Thanks

it might be used for air exchange but forget about it for drying. unless you are just drying one shroom and even then it is still a waste of time. just get yourself a room fan of any type and put your mush on it. 24hrs and then to the damp-rid chamber.

easier and a room fan is cheap.

good luck

It?s easy.
Get a 12V AC DC power adapter
http://www.voltageconverters.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=GS-1000-110
http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=adap...hter"+-computer

Then connect the fan wires with the power adaptor output wires.

The polarity MATTERS, so you might switch the wires if the fan doesn?t turn.
On some adaptors you can change the polarity with a switch on the adaptor itself.

You can adjust the fan speed by adjusting the output voltage of the adaptor.

That?s it.

try getting a coffee filter and but the shrooms in there and then set it on the back of your monitor , the heat from the monitor will dry them out and it works pretty good
