fresh shrooms + ziplock baggies = mess. Get a paper bag quick.
Dessicant is at any hardware/paint store. It's to dry out flooded and/or freshly painted closets/rooms.
Also really nice screen-wise are those varmint/bird screens that go over upducts on roofs. They are in the roofing section of any big hardware store.
If you still can't find dessicant, you can always ask your friendly spore distributor!------------------

While you are waiting,stick them shrooms in a PAPER bag and put 'em in the fridge! They won't get all slimey,and will probably dry a bit in the meantime...

candian tire should have it, expecially in the paint section. Ask for Damp-Be-Gone or Damp-Rid not dessicant, explane to them it is used to soak up moisture etc.

That's exactly what I did, the biggest, newest Canadian Tire around didn't have dessicant of any sort. I asked for Damp Rid and Damn Be gone and they had jack shit.

Hi Psilo Cyber, I had the exact same problem, I checked Canadian Tire and nothing. If you live in Canada, then there should be a White Rose near you. Go there and have a look in the dried flowers section for silica gel. I got a 2lb box for $7 and it works just fine. Its also reusable.------------------

If you are in the US, the best place to find Damp-rid is Home Depot, there should be one in your area. It comes in a blue milk-carton looking box. If you don't have a fan, wrap your stuff in a few paper towels, wait a day, then use a drying chamber.

I know this method isn't as good as desicant, but a lot of people swear by it. Put the shrooms on a black T-shirt and shine a bright light on it. They will be bone dry in a day. You might lose a little potency, but it is better than letting them moulder.------------------

Well, here a tip for all you Canadians. Canadian tire does sell desiccant(calcium chloride). It goes by the brand name ICE MELT(made bt STONE MASON). It?s usually only on the shelves in the winter season. But, if you ask them, they usually have at least a couple bucket of the stuff kicking around the back, this time of year.
Industrial tire shops also carry this stuff, it used inside large tires.------------------

GO TO A HARDWARE STORE AND ASK WHERE THE MOTH BALLS ARE, USUALLY IT IS WITH THE MOTH BALLS, THIS IS WHERE I GOT MINE, OTHERWISE, I DON'T KNOW.

Definitely gotta go with the food dehydrator. Over a year of fucking with dissicant left me hating the stuff.------------------

I got my dessicant at either Canadian Tire or Walmart (was a while ago). PRESTONE Driveway Heat is what I got and it works great. I fan dry them and then pop them in a homebuilt rubbermaid drying chamber with the Prestone stuff at the bottom. Mmmm, crispy. You may not be able to find it this time of year though, hopefully they have some still lying around.-Snarf
