Store bought POO works fine!

Skippy went to the local Agway. The humus mix is cheap and can be micro waved without any nasty smell or long drawn out leeching and drying and pasteurizing real poo. ( which he does but most likely not any longer).
Store bought Poo............

Real poo in the background had 5 inch babies...

What exactly is this 'humus mix' you bought at agway? A fertilizer or would one just ask for humus mix. Also how exactly did you microwave it? just put it in a dish and nuke and stir...but for how long? I'd be willing to give this a shot as there is an agway right near me, and i was looking to do some kind of casing with my jars. Any more details would be greatly appreciated.

Skippy threw out the bag a while ago just ask your friendly Agway representative for the above.
How he did it
put proper amount of S B Poo in dish (rubber maid or glass covered with Ren Wrap)
Nuke poo for 12 minutes
9/23 mix spawn with poo in a sterile area lay a additional layer of spawn even across the top (top coat) lay casing layer 60/40 evenly across the top of the top coat incubate at 85 %
9/29 first signs of Rhizo growth place in grow chamber
wait with patience for a while and stop peeking every 10 minutes!!!!
10/10 Harvest first of hopefully many fine flushes
***** note many store bought fertilizers are very heavy Skip believes there is a lot of soil in the mix which can make them wet........ . He is starting to test mixing in Peat Moss to lighten up the mix and give it more "air space"........ will get back with results ITF.

anyway just make sure you don't waste money on black kow! I was at the local home depot recently and noticed mycelium growing inside a bag of humus manure mixture that surely is a good sign.

AFOAF tried some stuff from home depot that did not work well at all.

Now I've heard Uncle Mike say that Black Kow worked wonders for him. In my experience with it, well, didn't go well at all. I believe in different locations and different batches, the Black Kow Composted Cow Manure contains fungicides. I truly believe this to be so. Don't use Mushroom compost because it's basically spent soil. Anything organic may work but if you truly cannot find good ole poop then try Scott's 3-n-1 if you can find it. It has been discontinued in most locations unless they had a large stock of it, you may not find it.

Skippy is pretty sure the humus manure mixture didn't have Fungicides. But will be on the look out in the future......
Additionally, Skippy finds that the SBP is very very dense. His casings with regular Poo are light and Airy. you can pick em up and toss em around if he wanted too!!
He would assume that is the effect we are looking for.... to get the mycelium through out the substrate easily and to let the substrate t act like a reservoir to the fruit.
He should have taken a pic (next time) but the SBP casing was not full colonized, but the regular Poo was a white brick!!
This brings Skippy back to the point he made earlier... He is going to start mixing Peat Moss in with the SBP. To create a easier penetrative substrate......
Has anyone else experienced this dense, not fully colonized SBP issue before?
He would like to hear some input . He thinks he is onto something regarding the addition of Peat Moss...........
