The first one will stop the bribery, and stop rich people/ big companies from calling all the shots. The second one will balance the budget and do it in reality, not fantasy.

The third one is rolling back the onerous federal regulations on things they have no business regulating, like drug laws for example. So called hate crime laws, and anything else that they don't need to be doing. Leave it to the states.

We tried to leave things to the states once, and we ended up at war with ourselves because certain states didn't want to give up their slaves.

Like it or not a strong federal government is necessary.

And how would an overbearing federal govt have changed anything then? You big govt nanny state types will grasp at any straw to support the indefensible. The founding fathers tried the best they could to avoid another situation like england where the monarch had absolute power. They did not want another king and tried to stop it from happening.

Obuma's role, under the big shots who put him into power, was to establish govt by decree with the pres trumping congress. They are waiting to see if there is a popular revolt and since the sheep seem to grumble and do little else, the next hand picked pres will push it even farther. They are trying to push the bitch on us but the gop nominee will be equally pledged to do as he's told by the elite.

Can you try to address one point as you go, rather than hop skotching across talking points and trying to sew them into a single coherent thought?

What's your god damn point?

Who's to Blame for High Gas Prices?

Share Post PrintJune 6, 2008 Posted by John at 4:43 PM
For several decades, the Democratic Party has pursued policies designed to drive up the cost of petroleum, and therefore gas at the pump. Remarkably, the Democrats don't seem to have taken much of a political hit from the current spike in gas prices. Probably that's because most people don't realize how different the two parties' energy policies have been.

Congressman Roy Blunt put together these data to highlight the differences between House Republicans and House Democrats on energy policy:

ANWR Exploration House Republicans: 91% Supported House Democrats: 86% Opposed

Coal-to-Liquid
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 78% Opposed

Oil Shale Exploration
House Republicans: 90% Supported
House Democrats: 86% Opposed

Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Exploration
House Republicans: 81% Supported
House Democrats: 83% Opposed

Refinery Increased Capacity
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 96% Opposed

SUMMARY

91% of House Republicans have historically voted to increase the production of American-made oil and gas.

86% of House Democrats have historically voted against increasing the production of American-made oil and gas.

PAUL adds: It's useful to keep this sort of thing in mind when we hear (on something like a daily basis these days) that the Republicans have run out of ideas or that Republican ideas didn't work. The truth is that most major Republican ideas weren't tried because the Democrats blocked them. Increasing the domestic production of oil and gas (a move so obvious it barely meets the standard for being an idea) is hardly the only example. Social security reform and school choice also come quickly to mind. Republican-backed policies for increasing the number of Americans with health insurance were also blocked by Democrats. And so forth.

X, you are dizzy

Zap took the whole day off, bummer, now who will rant at us? Enlil only posts if zap is around so all we have are the lightweights

Lud, the dems have been more obstructionist than the gop. I do think however, its all a ploy to get the public thinking its better to have the pres be a dictator who gets something done than a do nothing congress.

Dems are running away from obuma's policies, not on them. When they get a pounding in the elections they will not be so happy with the guy who brought them down. The public is already disenchanted with the goof, his approval rating is in the low 30's. The media can only prop up the fraud for so long. We will see if gop delivers the goods or not.

I would be quite pleased if there is a sufficient change in Congress to prevent Obama from doing any more damage.  No action is preferential to Obamaction.  I want him neutralized.

Obama's idea of doing something is taking my money and paying other people to do nothing.  Maybe you should write to him before it's too late.
