I think it has nothing to do with being socially acceptable either way.

Generally, women keep themselves very VERY clean all the time and spend a great deal of time doing so.

Nah, that's a generalisation. Everyone should have good hygiene.

Some people have weird priorities though, it's like they think "Well, I shit out of that place so there's no point trying to keep it clean." That's exactly why it deserves the most attention and thorough cleaning than any part of your body.

Yeah I can't hate anyone else for being into it, but I haven't ever wanted to be intimate with anyone's butthole.  The fantasy is great but like lots of fantasies, the reality is unlovely.

I know this isn't always the case, but I think in alot of circumstances it is about violation as an expression of control.  This excites my animal nature for sure but as a conscientious person I am against it.  If my self righteousness keeps my dick out of poop nugs I think it has served a good purpose.
