hey, i found these mushroom growing out of an post oak tree stump in my back yard. my location is dallas tx, the caps are about 4 inches across, when you touch them they stain your fingers orange. the whole mushroom is very very meaty and thick. the gills are also orange and they are attached to the stem. it didn't seem to drop a print except where the gills touched the paper, then it just seemed to stain the paper orange with it's touch.the caps are smooth and flat, curling under around the edges. i have more really good pictures, but it only let me load this one.

We need to see the underside of the cap more than the top.
Do the gills go almost straight into the stem, or do they run down it a little ways?
Is there a ring on the stem? To be sure, check several specimens, especially young ones.
Do they have a distinctive odor?
Happy mushrooming!
