Re: primordia trick for non-PF strains?

I've seen several different strains pin in vitro. It is a handy way of determining when to birth.

This is mentioned occasonally but seems important. As I interpret it:

Using PF tek, PF strain readily displays in vitro (i.e. in the jar) primordia formation and in-vitro pinning. Other strains are much less likely to display in-vitro primordia formation and in-vitro pinning. Thus this is not a reliable birthing sign in any strain other than PF.

Is this correct?

it is not so much 'they won't pin in vitro' as it is 'they take much longer to pin'.

But in some cases it will never pin in vitro, right? The cake gets 100% colonized but never pins. But then when it is birthed it pins and fruits fine. That being the case, 100% colonization is time to birth in some cases. Otherwise you will sit watching for it to pin when you could have birthed it weeks before.
