I lived there for a while. Enjoyed it a lot. Too much hipster/hippy/raw food crazy people for me though.

But the area itself and overall scene is pretty cool. And the boardwalk is second to none. No boardwalk quite like that, anywhere I have heard of. Very eclectic mix of people from all over the place.

And it's probably the only place you'll see a weed clinic and a botox place right next to each other.

I remember Venice beach as being kinda trashy.

Yeah.. it's gotten a lot better since then, or so I hear.

Cancun, Whistler, Cabo San Lucas, Bahamas, Kauai in that order. Planning a 3 week Euro trip next summer for our honeymoon. Going to visit Paris, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, and a few more places I haven't decided yet. I'm sure these will top my list of cool places. :excited:

I went to Leningrad (st. Petersburg) before the collapse of the Soviet Union. I wouldn't call it cool, but it was eye opening.
