Sounds like you've been around, I'm looking forward to getting some more travel done. Only been to a few countries so far

What was that city you mentioned as being one of the most dangerous in S America?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buenaventura,_Valle_del_Cauca

Read the "Crime" section

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/22/world/americas/22colombia.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

I didn't feel unsafe there, though I definitely felt out of place and sketched out by some of the looks I got.  Once I got out of the city and into the smaller villages, it was tranquil and had an "everybody knows everybody" kind of feel...but as some of the locals told me, "Things can get crazy here at any moment."

my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Yellowstone National Park

This is mine also. Well since Jackson Hole WY and Grand Teton National Park are so extremely close to Yellowstone, I kinda see them as one in the same. What an epic pocket of the world that is. I'll never forget driving into Yellowstone. I honestly thought it was going to be boring. Shows how uneducated I was about what was actually there. But shortly into the park my mind was forever fucking changed and blown by exactly what it was I was seeing. I could go back there every year if I was closer to it.

I'm not rich.  Most of the trips I described above came with the opportunity cost of long-term savings.  I spend money freely when I have it, and I travel for work and thus get opportunities to travel for pleasure by extension.

Man you've been to some cool fucking places, ST. I'm envious. All of those are awesome but the one that caught my eye was Santa Barbara. I went there on business a few years ago. I'm dying to go back. I'm so jealous of those motherfuckers that get to call that place home.

Yeah it really is, I remember I saw a vert ramp for skaters on a street corner in Jackson Hole because there wasn't too much traffic so they could have ramps everywhere . Grand Tetons were beautiful too and they had some EPIC thunder and lightning storms in WY in general. I also whitewater rafted up there.

Santa Barbra is pretty awesome, very beautiful, lots of hot chicks and good food too. I bet it would cost a fortune to live there though. I really am blessed to have gone to so many places by age 20 and I cant wait to explore the rest of the world as time goes on

I think if I had to pick a favorite place it would be either The redwoods , Oh yeah also the Sequoias(cant believe I forgot that), Crater lake and Yellowstone were my favorites. Yosemite was awesome too though
I found a pic on the net that looks just like a pic I took there
It was unbelievably blue and clear and the trees were so huge and green, it was summer and there was snow around the roads and stuff, it was magic:rasta:

Yeah we ended up staying one night in Jackson Hole (Teton Village) and then heading into the Grand Tetons & Yellowstone to camp. Camping out there was epic, man. We were fortunate to get nothing but crystal clear nights, and the stars were like nothing I have ever seen. It was like layers upon layers of them. The whole damn sky was a blanket of stars. I've lived near cities my entire life so that shit was foreign to me.

I have a coworker who was recently showing me photos of her trip to Crater Lake. Absolutely incredible stuff. All this talk is getting me hyped for a vacation!!
