I agree, when they are doing an undercover operation they go full on with the makeup and wardrobe, I was watching some Special TV episode that featured some of the past disguises the PD used, and seriously after the wardrobe and makeup change you would not be able to tell them apart from a crackhead or a gangbanger.

Now the way they talk, that's another thing... but lots of cops are psychopaths which means they are charming and have a way with manipulating and convincing people.

Right, but my point is that they dress the part when doing other undercover operations too. How they dress is dependent on what type of market they are trying to blend in with. But it can be easily done. Some will even wear fake teeth to make it look like they are old druggie burn-outs who lived a hard life and are falling apart.

Most likely for these type of undercover operations they aren't going to be showing up wearing nice slacks and sporting a clean-cut military hairdo.

Nice catch.
Almost certainly cops.
No self respecting parent goes to a show with their kid just to ditch them to be pretend parent/buddy to other random kids.
Be careful though, exposing undercover cops in a situation that could be dangerous to them can get you in trouble. What's dangerous?  On the scene the cop you might have just pissed off decides.  On the other hand, there's nothing wrong about warning people away from a sketchy person trying to pack possibly tripping teens into their car for a 'ride home.'

in empathy for your story. I myself have sometimes conflicting thoughts about the intentions of others.
Trusting gut instincts can often have positive reasoning mediating in its defence other than paranoia.
