Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.

Of course, since you just advocated for a death penalty, that would include you being put to death.

I however, will not advocate death for thoughts... but for actions.

It is a sign of a merciful society that he will be ended for his transgressions without having to suffer what his victim did.

I knew someone would say this. It is always said.

So does our society take an "eye for an eye" stance?

Are we not better than that? That's what I wonder.

I believe in rehabilitation.

I believe in rehabilitation too but for rehabilitation to begin one must
face the facts of one's guilt, something this man hasnt done, someone that
you've been making excuses for on a heinous crime, something that could
have been a simple theft but turned into a gruesome murder. we put down
animals that bite people and dont kill them, why are we so opposed to
putting down humans that have the capacity and free will to consider the
consequences of their actions

I actually think giving an 18 year old life is crueler than killing him.  I don't like our government killing people though, but he did some horrible shit so I don't really give a shit if they kill him.  Letter was good until he started with the pants sagging, it went down hill from there.

very 'articulate' murderer get some sort of excuse simply because he has an
8th grade education

Because Jasper is not a Guatemalan man. Jasper is a different man who grew up in a different environment with exposure to different stimuli.

At least that could be taken into consideration, I think.

why? is it because every 18yo man decides to murder someone and somehow

I don't know. I am just exploring all the options. Asking all the questions.

How do you feel about rehabilitation and prisoner work programs verses the death penalty?

of course, how could one possibly compare the stimili of growing up in a
wealthy country with free education and fuck tons of benefits for the
impoverished and those of certain races to someone that grw up in a country
embroiled in a civil war that lasted most of his life, death squads,
powerful drug cartels and an extremely corrupt government where the poor were slaughtered wholesale

you're right, seems that jasper had it so fucking bad

here's a question, provided with an answer

Q: why did jasper kill his business partner
A: because he's a a fucking thug trying to live the thug life and wasnt
above killing to steal a few grand in recording equipment to outfit his
own recording studio, after all, murder is easier tan the dissolution
of a partnership

lol... so apparently most 18yo must be killing people for sneakers and shit

most prisoners dont need to worry about the death penalty and those could
be sent out on farms to serve as free/cheap labor but escape should be met
with a bullet in the back but if they work hard then provide them with
$5/day for that labor to use in the commissary and the balance upon their
release, possibly even reducing the sentence for those that make a real
showing, for some that could be a large chunk of cash to get reestablished
with. those under the death penalty shouldnt be out in public but should be
doing 'in house' work, since they arent making license plates they could be
running any sort of machine to manufacture goods that would help them pay
for their lifelong stay in prison and later in life, their geriatric care

the simple rule regarding prisoner work, "if you dont work, you dont eat",
that gives them the choice to work or not, then we wont spend so much on
the penal system, it can become self supporting and provide us with cheep
food and goods while eliminating the reliance on 'migrant workers' and can
teach a trade to those that will be released back into the wild one day

You could give the food they produce to people on foodstamps and kill 2 birds with 1 stone.  They could also do construction and a lot of other projects that our government pays out of the ass for.  I don't really believe in forced labor, but people would line up for it if you paid them $5 a day.

not really killing 2 birds unless you're executing a food stamp recipient
with every death row inmate, that' something I could get behind

yeah, we need inmates with more dangerous weapons out doing jobs that people
like me were being paid, put them on as laborers humping bricks or vibrating
concrete, maybe but leave the skilled trades to the tradesmen

Work for the private sector.  Our nations public infrastructure is more important than paying a bunch of degenerate alcoholic laborers inflated wages to do shit almost anyone that can lift 100 lbs can do.  Also the fact that you pay no money in taxes makes me laugh at the other comment.

he wasnt using the equipment, he was stealing it, he was a partner in a
studio with the man that owned the equipment and he wanted it for himself
so his partner couldnt make money off 'his talent'

Here's how I would deal with violent innate that cannot be rehabilitated.

I would put 20 of them at a time in cell surround an arena, give them each a sword, then opening up the cells. Last guy standing recieves food and water (laced with cyanide; but you don't tell em that)

yeah, only someone really scummy would do this... really makes one wonder if it's even worth... having a Rap career as goal to strive for, if so many idiots are going to kill over what is supposed to be about supposed "empowerment".

I donjt understand why you'd make it so easy and painless, I've advocated for
a large, deep pit with no weapons, 1000 men go in, none come out
