Aquariums?

Any other shroomerites into aquariums? They're amazing to look at while tripping, any time I have a group of people over tripping they all usually end up around the tank.

I mostly do saltwater, especially reefs, but I've kept fish only systems with small sharks and a few cephalopods over the years.

This is my reef tank.

Fuck dude me and a really good girl friend were supposed to go but she was here in seattle on work. Total fucking bummer for both of us. The craziest shit lives in the ocean.

They are nice looking though.


I won't own a pet other than a dog or cat anymore though ever since I got locked up.

Dogs seem to enjoy the relationship with us and cats, though I don't think they are as loving as dogs, are just as free to move about if not moreso because they don't run away.


I don't judge people who keep pets but I have seen the behind the scenes at petsmart and even if I hadn't the idea of caging a creature for your amusement is enough to keep me away.

I understand where your coming from, but I think that they serve as an important teaching tool. For many people (especially in inland areas) aquariums are the only interaction they get with marine animals. I really view them as captive ambassadors to their wild counterparts.

If people see how amazing these animals are, and can get excited about them they're much more likely to give a shit about them and their environment.

But, I agree that there are definitely people who are in it for the wrong reasons, if the health of your animals doesn't come first you have no business doing it. (don't even get me started about petco haha)  :mad2:

That looks awesome. I'm very jealous, however I don't have the attention span or the patience to deal with something like that. I do enjoy seeing them however, and even though I have not seen a reef or anything like that myself(in person), the pictures alone are enough for me to respect their environment.

Ive got some african dwarf frogs, neon tetras, and ghost shrimp in a 10g freshwater planted soil tank. Its a natural mini ecosystem. In fact I dont even use any of the chemicals for treating water and such, just let the chlorine evaporate.

African Chichlids are cool too, lots of cool colors. Plus they actually like hard water. I used to have a few small ones.

Cichlids are definitely cool, the variety is crazy and they're pretty easy to breed.

Man that's an awesome aquarium you have there. Would be sooooo sick if you bought some cold cathode neon strips (relatively inexpensive typically used for PC case lighting) that were blue or changed color... and then wired them around the base of your aquarium - damn...

When you were tripping that would be INSANE lol!

But yeah, I used to have a fish in a small - pimped out little aquarium with neons and a bigass skull that he could swim through and stuff... but he got sick and died after a while :frown:

Next time I get a new one... I'm getting multi-color changing neons and a huge mushrooms for my fishies to swim around in and then I'll film myself staring at it while I'm trippin' out XD

But to answer your question: Love aquariums. Wish cool stuff wasn't so damn expensive these days :frown: (over in cali EVERYTHING is expensive)
