If life was an MMORPG... * 2
    #19555323 -

It would be a shitty and unfair one for sure

You don't even choose if you want to play this MMO.

You have zero say on your character's race, gender, physical appearance, genetics, and so forth.

Some players begin this MMO with a few hundred million gold in their inventory, others spawn as slaves with no items.

There are no moderators or admins who keep track to make sure the game runs smoothly.

When you die, there's no respawn and all your stats reset to zero, not to mention you lose all your items.

There's no teleports in a free world this big.

Technically speaking, any area is a player killing zone.

Too many random events (glitches) like disease can completely ruin your character's stats.

There's no official rule book or Terms and Conditions.

-----

Come to think of it, life IS a massive multiplayer online roleplaying game. Well, without the online part.

Somebody asked yesterday "why does the sun rise and why does the sun set? How did it all start and how does it all end? Where are we headed and why does it get dark?" I think the sun simply rises just for us, the darkness comes so it can be morning again, nobody knows which way we're going, and life eternally begins anew the moment that it ends.

Thus its beautiful and elegant, think of all the things in life that are not possible in MMORPGs, life is a MMORPG that we cannot truly understand.

BTW, what you described is a lot like Ultima Online, which was probably the greatest MMORPG there ever was, lol. A true study of sociology.

In ultima online one time a person made friends with me for a week only to lure me into a cave in the wilderness and kill me to get all my items, that's dedication.

Perhaps it is an MMORPG. Perhaps when you join the game you choose your character's race, gender, physical appearance, genetics, and so forth. Perhaps part of the game is wiping your memory and temporarily forgetting it is a game. Perhaps Some players are so cocky they want to play a handicap level and spawn as slaves with no items. This is a simulated holographic reality game. Zoom in far enough and you even see the pixels (protons, electrons, photons). :strokebeard:

Taxes. You need to pay up to keep the (current) game running. Otherwise the developers can't add future updates or look after new additions like roads and hospitals.

Your character also sucks major balls. You constantly have to allocate your resources for food in order to simply not die. Its like your hitpoints are gradually decreasing unless you have a bite.

I can relate to that feeling that life appears somewhat slanted towards others more than yourself. Sometimes another person will do anything they possibly can to acquire whatever end they may have in sight, whether this end was delivered with the willpower to achieve its end is unknown as of now. However, one might know of a future occasion when they discover this pearl of wisdom. I do recall an old Latin professor presenting a speech on the unfair aspects of life. These included a list of things that normally make others feel excluded, or as if they aren't being apart of it because someone else wanted it more. If we want something we chase it, and that may be why that some who will get out of the race will not be given the chance to endeavor to activate the ability to possibly capturing the said object. For we might remember that certain objects hold a much higher value to us than otheres, and indeed, that we might hold it in far more admiration than most normal objects. If we don't decide to take the opportunity to attain this object then we fall back on ourselves and are back at sq one again.

I do know I try to separate my thoughts from the roots of this unfairness, so that way I might view it from a new angle that has substituted the former one, which we might say has no longer been used in favor for this one. For many people might all decide to leave the former agency to regard this as their true function. And indeed, may relinquish the desire to run and instead persist pursuing that which connects to a new planet. For we might create a new planet by our own willpower, and the proof of this planet is unquestionable. We have connected our minds to this new planet, and that ability to know that we might present a projection of the potential shape of this planet, for perhaps we watched a recent installation of discovery channel & the revelation had possible occurred to us first then. But then later on we realize we might have first realized it a week before after stepping out of the shower to prepare for mass. For some events are carried with full ceremonial devotion & are regarded as far more important events than otheres. These will be the events that cannot be missed, almost as if attendance is indeed mandatory. You may choose to absent yourself from the occasion, but sooner or later your ghost will be calling. Now I would introduce another element to the topic, but the topic does seemed to have been rubbed in a bit. I think I've taken more than enough attempts to explain it in the clearest terms, and after I do feel much more clearsighted. I believe that much enlightenment happens when looking into these odd out of the way places, as if you finally discovered a universal truth worthy of being documented. For certain areas might result the repeated pattern of academic success, and others that follow up on the road to Jerrys to adopt a pet snake would agree on that word. I often get asked by others how did I become so smart & I usually tell them that is what comes from being a well read person. I always excelled at most of my assignments & I was the teachers pet because of my extraordinary feats of conscious, he would often after the latin lesson is finished being introduced would schedule a conference with me & wish to discuss it in further length later on. I would be praised endless & given a trophy for my academic achievements. I was well ahead of nearly everyone in my class & I often arrived 30 minutes earlier than most of them to show the teacher how much more effort I put into school than they do. I knew I was bound to graduate with honors & would be praised endlessly by my peers for the many leadership qualities I carried around with me til the day the year came to its end when I decided to retreat to a more impish form. I wasn't accustomed to withdrawing my leadership in favor for a more paasive role, however, I was invited to spend three days in a cabin in Ohio & evidently couldnt refuse. Everyone looked up to me for my ability to liberate others, and after they met me they felt a trace of the divine fire still inside them. Though that spirit would obviously quickly pass away into another form. For some spirits transcend space & time, and indeed, have such extraordinary talents that enable them to transform themselves into a wide variety of new forms/shapes.

Logging out to me means death or suicide. If I logged out of the Matrix id walk out a door and come right back to where I was.

Sidenote: Neo is no more.
