but that type of stupidity couldn't be catching on in america could it? I remember back in my day there used to be gangs who showed their affiliation by wearing certain colored bandanas, then they banned wearing bandanas of any color in places like schools. thank god there are no more gangs!

The prohibition of wearing colors in schools was not done to get rid of gangs, it was done to keep kids from advertising they're affiliation to a particular gang on school property. Not sure why you put this in this thread.

Israel in general is kind of nazi-esque.

- It's a surveillance state where free speech is limited.
- There's a large military population (nearly 20%).
- Massive ethnic and religious majority (Jews).

They are funny folk.  Some of my best friends have been Jewish but they can't stand for you to talk negatively about the homeland and they will usually do something you never expected around money.  Just my experience.

Well here's a for instance.  One of my good Jewish friends was a whirling dead head.  He lived on squat working with me in produce dept at a natural foods store.  He was down on wealth and power and all that "evil' shit that keeps you from living an authentic life. :wink: (see where this is going)

Well anyway this and that happened and his gf cheated with is best mate and broke his heart. So he moved to Vegas to dry out with his dad who was connected there. He ended up doing photo promo for the strip clubs and then moved into music promo. Now he's very rich, married a woman who looks like a boob job  (she was a stripper) and never looks up his old friends.  He shaved the beard and dressed like a mover and shaker in Vegas. Which he is.  lol

Seems every Jewish friend I've had has done something similar.  It's not like he was a flaky teen ager when I knew him. He had been committed to that lifestyle for a lot of years.  Then poof overnight... gone.

IMO that can happen to anyone, and often will.

My best friend is Jewish (well, sort of, he's half black, quarter white, quarter Israeli) and while getting to know him I thought I noticed odd things about his behavior with money. He spent it very rarely and wouldn't ever buy things for people.
Now I recognize that these behaviors only stood out to me because of my learned prejudices.
Another close friend of mine who is Chinese, Vietnamese and white actually fits the behavioral caricature of the "greedy, hoarding Jew" much better than my actual Jewish friend.

It should be noted however, that my best friend is rather agnostic leaning towards atheistic in his beliefs.
From what I've studied of it, Judaism in practice could easily foster rather unpleasant behavior, but that can be said for most many religions.
