People hear voices in white noise?

Hadn't heard about that before, but I just heard it in a video and then looked it up and there are lots of claims of it. It sounds like it would be creepy to experience.

Electronic Voice Phenomena. It is debatable how many of the instances are genuine or possibly faked. At any rate it is normally indistinguishable to my ears but there are some that sound really clear and are a little creepy. I should also point out that it isn't always white noise and some people recorded EVPs in their home when there is no other noise present. Now that's disturbing. Have you seen the movie White Noise

Noise waves are waves that randomly go through all frequencies very quickly, so it would make sense that people would be able to pick out voices from it.
In the same way our brains our designed to recognize faces very easily, which leads to people finding faces in trees, finding faces on the grill of a car, finding faces on other things very easily.

Sometimes it sounds like a radio station has been left on somewhere and it's barely audible. There is no other noise or TV on. It's pretty creepy.

Hearing voices in white noise is a sign of schizophrenia I believe, you might want to cut back on the drugs :frown:

Experiment you all should try, leave a tape recorder to record audio as you sleep. See what you hear going on at night

Sound waves can travel between houses through plumbing and the like in some cases and many cases of people hearing voices in their homes have been due to this.

It's also normal for people to hear voices in white noise, especially like a fan's whirring, etc.

Yet there are still examples of EVP that deny explanation. Im all for skepticism but after living in the house I have for the past ten years. Too much man and not just EVP. Attacks ( scratches appearing ). 150 rottweiler cowering in the corner crying for me like he was a scared puppy again just staring whimpering at thin air. I can say some of it's BS. Not all of it though.

I just came out of a bad benzo withdrawl the last few weeks and I was hearing audible voices in just about every form of white noise. it was about to drive me crazy and I was fearing it was permanent. I was having multiple small seizures when relaxing as well, about every 30-60 seconds. I would also wake up and see/hear people in the room with me and talk back to them before i'd realize they weren't there. this has all gone away now thankfully, and i'll never take benzos or alcohol again. I should be dead way too many times. this shit was the scariest yet, as my sanity was in question for awhile.
