you may have better luck with LFH questions in Advanced Mycology section. lots of math involved and when i was researching info i wound i was a pricey thing getting the materials needed for my flow hood. LFH so much money when you should be getting 98-100% success in a SAB. a LFH won't help you out if you're not getting those numbers in your SAB anyway, but if you are(good technique), and have money to blow, then I guess a LFH is a cool upgrade

I wouldnt do agar without a LFH

why not? i've had great success isolating in a still air box. LFH is not necessary, and is only really effective in a full lab situation.

Ease of mind and it will hopefully be a little bit more forgiving if I accidentally move my hands in the wrong way

like bodhisatta said, if your following proper sterile technique, working in a SAB will yeild high 90% success rates. theres no harm giving it a try.

It's all most of us use for our agar. Frank, Notahacker420, myself, and many many many others do excellent with just a SAB. If you can't get success in a SAB a LFH won't help you at all.

a LFH is not magic, it's not going to make you better, it's just a bit better place to work in. Moving your hand the wrong way can still blow contams into your work. You only sanitize your gloves, if anything the air will push it into your work while using a SAB you might have a chance. Either way you have to work perfectly.

I did and failed , then again back there I had worse procedure , but I hate working in a SAB so much ill just spend the money to get a 48x24 LFH so I can have plenty of room to work , The clean room get up ill be in wont even bother me , plus I like the Idea of an air scrubber for my grow room

a grow room doesn't need an air scrubber unless you're letting your fruits spore everywhere and don't want your house full cube spores. Not sterile is still not sterile.

I say make a bigger SAB, and practice like all of us did. No one did 100% the first few times.

My SAB technique is fine now I just havnt done agar yet cause I know ill get a LFH

I know I dont need one I want one just like I want a LFH to make my life easier
