Yes it severely dampens emotional reactivity to negativity for myself. It is a very pronounced effect on my part, absolutely love it! I have seen some standardised Rhodiola full spectrum tinctures; here's the one I saw -

This one is by New Chapter Nature's Answer and has 3% rosavins, 1% salidroside and 24% phenolic compounds if I remember correctly. This contains 15 days worth of doses whereas SHR-5 contains 40 capsules at 180mg each, which lasts 20 days.

Going to purchase it next week probably and I'll report back.

That one is not New Chapter, I dunno, maybe you posted the wrong image. You might want to fix that.

Rehmannia Dean Thomas recommends rhodiola crenulata over rhodiola rosea.

Would you say that rhodiola is equivalent to drinking two beers? Because that's quite powerful for something legal.

hmmm... i'd say it's definitely mood boosting and inspires greater empathy, but it's also quite energizing and adds mental clarity. not sure if it feels like two beers as i haven't drank in many years, but i remember alcohol gave me a feeling of being a bit polluted whereas rhodiola only feels great.

i don't drink coffee anymore, but i can see this replacing one's morning coffee. i take it first thing in the morning and very soon i'm full of energy. not sure if others feel this way about it too.

but overall i've never been this impressed by an herbal supplement. rhodiola is actually incredibly noticeable, which was a nice surprise

Well it's hard to compare it to beer actually because beer has a shitton of different effects all happening at once. But yes the anxiolysis is on par with being very very lightly tipsy. Do not expect any euphoria or high or anything of the sort.

It's more like a blanket insulating you from the world, or soundproofing, as if life is a giant concert with thumping speakers and you've found the only pair of earplugs in the venue. There is a definite energy and concentration boost however and in combination with other nootropics this does actually become very euphoric.

What I have found to work great is to abstain from caffeine intake altogether. Then on the days I need a serious boost, I will drink some tea and chuck in some Rhodiola, Celastrus, Piracetam and Noopept. This produces a very clean amphetamine-like high and it is rather euphoric in its own way. Although there is a ceiling effect with this, the intensity is very comparable to amphetamine too! It won't make you feel egotistically godlike in the way amphetamines do but nonetheless you feel powerful, able, willing to get work done and with concentration to boot.

Throw in some heavy harmalas and I feel light and bouncy on my feet, like some kind of genetically modified supersoldier; if you have ever played Crysis then it essentially feels kinda like that (seriously nutty!). Although harmalas will seriously inhibit left-brained thinking ability at the doses required for this so it's best for sports & physical/experiential activities.

Rhodiola is a strong MAOI! :slomo:

(Stronger than p. harmala a.k.a. Syrian Rue and b. caapi? It inhibits MAO-B and MAO-A whereas p. harmala and b. caapi only inhibit MAO-A.)

The methanol and water extracts exhibited respectively inhibitions of 92.5% and 84.3% on MAO A and 81.8% and 88.9% on MAO B, at a concentration of 100 μg/ml.

If you want to alleviate depression & brain fog the quickest way by far is to drink a green smoothie every day packed full of every kind of vegetable and fruit you can think of and in high quantities; much more than you could reasonably eat even if spread across two meals. Within a week you should see a vast difference in the way you feel in and out.

As for the high ABV alcohol, I remember having this same problem and you can use an Irish drink called Poteen, which runs at 90% ABV, not bad at all!

I started taking rhodiola rosea recently with st johns wort and it's cool, but will i have to stop if i want to dxm? probably, but for how long?

Edit: OK, just realised that the wort alone could be a problem in combination with a MAOI.. seems strange to me that the rhodiola bottle displays no reference to these things.

Harmalas are very interesting in their effects.

One thing they do is place you in a dreamy, autopilot type state. This can be good or bad depending on how you exploit it.

But this comes with a very powerful benefit. The reason you feel dreamy and on autopilot is because it opens up your perception massively; it sharpens every single one of your senses and they are now transmitting information in much richer and vibrant detail. To cope with this huge increase in information flux, your brain depersonalises a little bit.

This is readily apparent however if you test your reflexes. There is a significant boost to the speed of your reflexes on harmala. However this may come with a lack of coordination. In essence, your muscles are hyper-ready to fire but conversely there is a lot of misfiring as a result and you will be rather twitchy. When you channel this energy correctly it is absurdly powerful. You need to be grounded and in a state of zen to get anything less than a shaky mess out of this.

The interesting thing is that this energy is much easier to channel when you throw some DMT into the mix. But without DMT, you can still use meditative power to attain the same flow-state effects. I was under the impression that DMT created the light, quick and watery sensation but it's actually the harmalas which create the potential for that state. That state exists in a space of states the majority of which are simply just purely twitchy or comatose. But if you fine tune your nervous system via Zen then you can create a state of brilliant neural synchrony and muscle coordination a la ayahuasca. I also have heard that phenethylamine + deprenyl can create that state so who knows how it works.

But I think it would be an excellent companion for hunting prey in the woods. There is something very visceral about running on harmalas. They are a powerful stimulant but the stimulating energy is quite different to amphetamine; it's the kind of stimulation that does not disguise your tiredness. Rather, your movements are a bit more efficient due to the sensory benefits and this results in quite a large saving of energy. It is also inherently stimulating so there is a twofold effect.

Also just remember that going raw doesn't mean you need to stop eating meat/animal products either. It's much better for vitality to eat a raw diet with high protein/fat from animal sources than to eat raw vegetables alone. Of course some will have ethical issues with that, and they will have to do the necessary work to keep a complete protein & vitamin profile.

I bought New Chapter's Rhodiola Rosea. Took almost half the bottle. Took the same amount again about an hour later. This morning I took the remaining ~7 caps.

Shit's weak.

SHR-5 is guaranteed to work. If that doesn't work then you are insensitive to Rhodiola. I think some people might be. But if you're looking for a high, rhodiola will not make you high. Keep that in mind. Put yourself in stressful situations and that's where you will see it work its magic.

Re: the Rhodiola discussion, last week I took Rhodiola several times a day all week (increasing my doses as the week progressed) and didn't feel a thing. It was this stuff, by the way.
