as far as buying pedro...look on the sponsors page.  i hear good things about bouncing bear botanicals.

that should get you started...for the rest, just take you time and look around on these boards.  youll learn alot .  good luck with your ventures

oh and as for the peruvian torche...it is supposedly more potent a plant, and is usually more expensive.  but it is also really beautifull.  i mean this is for cultivation purposes only anyway, so potency shouldn't be a factor.

even along with that it all depends on the cactus...some are stronger than others.  just find someone that has good plants, and go with that .  enjoy your growing

i've noticed no real potency difference between the two that couldn't be explained by differences between specimens within either species. for the most part, claims to the contrary are cited from one specific laberatory assay where the dried material used was found to be unusualy high in alkaloids. this is not the norm.

I don't know if all of the sites do this but one was offering tip or mid section cuttings. Does the cactus have to be rooted for a section without a tip to grow? I mean will one of these mid section cuttings actually root?

they will root, but some say it takes longer. i have mid section taht hasnt rooted yet, but all of my tips have. i think it has something to do with active growing or something like that. mid sections will root though:)

a section without a tip won't grow anywhere but out a little, and then sprout some pups. Tips will grow in height. Both will root.

middle cuttings are ugly imo. tip cutting may root faster since they're not trying to grow at both ends simultaneously but this is just speculation.

I know a source for buying cactus that is not centered around selling enthobotanicals and therefore sell San Pedro a lot cheaper. This guy is just in the nursery business. PM me for details.

my cactus guy sells me 25+ inch cuttings for $10. i don't think he has any idea that they are psychoactive.
