Nice, are you planning on drinking that all yourself! If so, what do you reccomend to keep it down, that is some of the worst tasting syrup ever!

No offense but this doesn't sound any different than most "tea" recipes I've read. This is exactly what i did the last time I took a pedro trip (execpt I added lemon juice and just boiled it in a normal pot with a little water). The liquid looked exactly the same as yours (not exactly syrup consistency if you ask me). It works great though. Regardless have fun and good luck keeping down that VILE liquid!

true. I was just a little disappointed. When I read syrup I had thought maybe someone had figured out a way to mask the taste. Oh well.

Good method......all I would change for my own use, would be to acidify the water with some lemon juice. Albeit not totally necessary because your pressure cooking the liquid which should dissolve more alkaloids in the water (altleast one would think so), the lemon would just make recovery a bit easier, plus it betters the taste of the resulting concoction IMHO, if thats possible.

San Pedro syrup: slice cactus into stars and acidify with lemon juice then grind to a pulp.Add an equal volume of EtOH and stir vigorously for ten to fifteen minutes.strain through cheese cloth and repeat the alcohol extraction again.combine all extracts and add a volume of honey equal to half the alcohol and place in a double boiler and drive off the alcohol. What is left is a true syrup.Dosage is dependent on the original amount of catus used. This method is preferable to pressure cooking as high pressure steam can cause hydrolosis of some compounds found in the cactus. Also I cannot honestly sat this is tasty but it is much easier to ingest than slime tea.Bon Chance WR PS this is my own method and I have proven it's effectivity many times.Peace.

I use Saint Pete quite often usually to make my peyote go further.Usually I just blend everything up and chug(Adds a little ritual to the trip)High doses (3-4') are pretty disassociative but pleasent.Adding Psilocybin just after the nausea phase can catapult you completly from your senses.(see trip report,Obsidian council).I just wanted to pass on that excess heat will destroy potency so evaporate your concentrate with as low a heat as possible.Using a dessicant such as Calcium Chloride will retain most of the potency then just dry it enough to form small pellets with powdered sugar(mix with the almost dry syrup). The pellets are easily swallowed whole or can be sucked on (still wretched tasting) Bon Chance WR

Standard chemical procedure for hydrolyzing compounds is exposure to high pressure steam.Mescaline is one of the most heat stable compounds, but give it a try with a lower temp and see if you don't get a somewhat more potent product. It may be that mescaline is stable enough to not lose potency.I personally prefer raw blended cactus for potency but have had strong results with cooked slime also.Either way Saint Pete is a very gentle and pleasent teacher,Much more compassionate than peyote or P.cyanescens/azurescense.I really love it with a happy cubensis (tampenensis sclerotia preferably).I brewed a beer from it once and it was VERY fun, still bitter but not slimy and after 2 beers you were where you wanted to be. Have fun with the Saint.Bon Chance WR

and what do you think about peeling the san pedro saving the green flesh and let it dry and reduce it to powder, then put this in some alcohol for some days and then let all the alcohol evaporate at room temperature and eat what is left? thank you, bye

Nothing beats grinding up the raw cacti as far as I am concerned but your method will make an active concentrate but you will probably have to adjust the dosage as it probably will not be a direct 1:1 relationship between raw materials and concentrate(you will need slightly more concentrate than a direct conversion to raw cactus amount as the processing always destroys some alkaloids, this is insignificant if it is concentrated enough)PS remember to acidify with lemon before you extract any cacti.Bon Chance.WR

Im sure this isnt a new idea either, but Taz DEvil says that the best way to avoid the literally - BEYOND - foul taste is to soak all the syrip/tea up into flour then role the dough into balls and consume. BTW this shit just tastes soooooooooooo bad!! Maybe this means that my spirit is not pure

It tasted so bad the first time I made a San Pedro/apple juice slurpee....that I thought something was wrong with my cactus stock and threw the whole lot down the sink!
Next time I play I might try and see if I can get the stuff pH neutral...although I doubt that'll help the taste too much!
