    #1195105 - 01/06/03 03:40 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

this is it! the pics below (thank you invizible man for help in uploading) illustrate the preparation of san pedro syrup "a la nan", whom i would like to thank for sharing such a precious recipy. this batch was prepared for New Year's Eve party and was absolutely amazing, the best ever. this is exactly how you do it, just a couple of ounces of syrup get you direct to paradise for over ten hours

thank you. the pics are not exactly in order, but you see what i mean  results are extremely pleasurable, strong warm visuals, very spiritual, sociable and one with the universe, great for making music. for this batch, 1/2 kg of dried t. peruvianus green tissue was used, more than enough for 8 people/level5 :smirk:

If I wasn't interested, then I wouldn't have fixed it. jk Its one of the much needed things for an extraction. I believe this is the first pictorial of it's kind.

Comario,
Those pics are great. I know it has been a while, so here is a thread for people who like to read along:

thanks guys, i do appreciate the interest.

dazedsol: 1.notwithstanding what is illustrated in the pics, i actually used only dry tissue of T.Peruvianus.

2. since it comes in dry form, you have to start by hydrating it, for a couple of hours or so. in this case, 1/2 kg dry green tissue was placed in approx 1gallon of DISTILLED WATER (as i learned through experience, this is key! no substitutions), left to soak, then PCd for 10 mns at 15psi, then filter and squeeze; repeated 3 times, always readding distilled water (by the time i was finished i had used approx 3 gallons of dist watr). you then take all the extracted, filtered juices and simmer it down to syrup consistency. boiling time will range b/w 12-24 hours.

3. 50-100 mls approx.

the resulting syrup is extremely bitter, but since you don't need to ingest that much, it's quide doable. with this batch, there was absolutely no stomach disconfort whatsoever experienced by any of the participants. it's really great!

Interesting......thanks

why not continue boiling it down to a goo for even more hypothetical ease in handling dosing? maybe even letting it dry farther till no moisture remains...maybe make little balls with the goo and let harden...then these can just be swallowed..... just some idears

you can go even further and dry it to a hard plastic-like substance that will powderize quickly in a coffee grinder. then load into gel caps and swallow.

dazedsol & bilge: the reason i dont reduce it further to gel cap size is that i think this may be hard on the stomach. the syrup, on the contrary, induces no discomfort whatsoever.you still have to go through one or two ounces of bitterness, but, to me, that's part of the experience. in such limited volumes, it really aint that bad

>>the reason i dont reduce it further to gel cap size is that i think this may be hard on the stomach. the syrup, on the contrary, induces no discomfort whatsoever

That seems almost counterintuitive. You'd think that reducing down to solids would be less harsh on the stomach since there is no liquid. The visceral reaction would be a combination of the chemicals and the bittertaste - as anyone who's gagged on nasty stuff knows.. I'd find that wild if the reduced syrup to solid really does do a number on the stomach while the syrup does not. Please report back with your findings.

I was always under the impression that it was the solids(ie:whole cactus stuff..fibers etc) that were the main cause of stomach discomfort.......

Besides that, it would seem to vary person to person....either your stomach will not agree with the actives or it will be ok with them...... maybe even somewhere in between.......

purely all anecdotal statements though

all interesting points. my view is that the absorption of extremely concentrated  substances may be irritating to the stomach lining, whereas the absorption of the same substance in a more diluted form may be easier on the system. moreover, the body is generally able to adjust better and avoid "shock" reactions upon gradual absorption of an active substance. i'n not sure i'd actual find it a better experience if it "came on" too rapidly. still, i might just go ahead and give it a shot one of these days ... i think it would important to avoid burning the stuff, so the final step would have to be by evaporation, thus requiring quite some additional preparation time. and yes, i would use glass pyrex. btw, i believe that reports of mescaline sulfate indicate such an initial "shock" reaction, including nausea etc. were's chinacat72? i'd like to hear form him on this

Excellent discussion, my only experiences have been with ingesting the tissue which as you know is a very unpleasant experience.
