Goals and Aspirations
    #18928855 - 10/03/13 11:19 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

What are some goals that you have set for yourself at this present time, and how do you plan to achieve them? A current goal of mine is to pass this semester of school (attendance issues) and honestly i'm not looking any farther ahead than that.

I find when I look too far ahead, my goals are harder to reach.

You must set smaller attainable goals.
Something you can achieve within a short time frame.

Have those goals achieve an even greater goal.

Eventually, your grand goal will be achieved.

Start small, think big.

That's what I was thinking. Life is too unpredictable to set long term goals as far as I can tell.

Well it is unpredictable, but having an idea of you ultimate outcome is a great thing.
The problem with setting goals is people tend to reach for the stars.
You really have to lay a ground work and build a launch pad first.
In that direction, you first need to find the cement, to lay the foundation.
Of course, before you can lay the foundation, you need to level the ground.

Sometimes you need to know why you are leveling the ground before you can get the motivation to do so.

My goals.
Be more self sufficient:
  • Make my chickens safe from the foxes, already lost 4, or get up early and kill them( I don't like getting up early so better security it is)
  • hand pump that I can use on my well.
  • fence of those deers so I can expand my garden.
  • Get a chest freezer to store deer meat
  • Get a costco membership to supliment the deer meat I don't get(only does around my house :mad2:
  • More rifles
  • More ammo
  • Buy a generator

Sounds like shit I can do by next summer.

It seems like you have your life mostly in order, and know what you need to do. I'd like to someday build a nice cabin in the woods, and be almost completely self sufficient. It seems like a pipe dream now, but I think it could be done.

Doesn't sound bad. Not bad at all actually. Can you elaborate at all? Or is it really that vague?

Nah.. just keep chipping away at it.

Start looking at places you would like to live that have a decent commute to a city.

Sometimes that drive is worth it,

It really is that vague

Someone could be a millionare and be an unhappy person, always falling slightly short of achieving contentment, never fully grasping what they feel they're destined for, but running on the knowledge that it feels like something is missing and that late night hooker and coke parties act as a temporary aid to filling up the empty spaces. Bringing down others along the way on their lost misguided quest towards nowhere-land.

That's obviously a bit of an extreme example of what I'm trying to get at, but I'd think my life philosophy runs on the logic of the "little things" in life mattering the most.

and yeah basically I have no idea what I want to do for a career lol

-Learn enough about property ownership rights in Europe and America
-Evade said rights to build a small wooden cabin on a large plot without paying for an actual house.
-Acquire glassware, solvents, seeds for various psychoactive/precursor-bearing plants.
-Build a soundsystem
-Die in peace and solitude.

perfect outline, Beanhead.

my goals and aspirations is make music and learn music theory and/or history.

long term

short term, i want to get some painting supplies and supplement my free time with more creative endeavors other then just music.

still haven't really WROTE anything, so that'd be a definite goal, too. i've only done like amateur IDM music (most of which was never completed) and made sound collages and done some subtle "experiments" so far. that and practiced on the Drums and Guitar. i want to practice more Guitar, and i'm going to once i get an acoustic. so that's another one.
