Any way to get a Win8 promo upgrade for $15?

These were being offered through MS before Win8 released, and I just ignored them. I don't actually want Win8, but I want to have the upgrade so that I can eventually get a discount on Win9, hoping that it's decent. Are any of these promos still around?

Yes, though they are patching in traditional desktop functionality. The reason I want it, though, is so that I won't have to pay full price for an eventual Windows 9, coz I'd be able to just upgrade cheaply.

I doubt that Micro$oft will give you a sub-$50 upgrade to win8. Even if you do get it they sure as hell won't give you 9 without making you pay for it in full/almost full. Besides, win7 is the best os out there (aside from xp) (for PC). Aparently m$ is having a hard time convincing people to switch... I have a 64bit win7, and I wouldn't upgrade if they GAVE me $15....

Not anymore. You could buy windows 8 Pro, full working key for $15 when it first came out but it's gone up significantly.

I think the cheap upgrade thing is tied to when you get a comp. If you bought a dell within x time of win7 being released they gave you a y$ discount/%off. But I doubt they would let you keep riding that every two or so years...

It was $15 for windows8 if you bought a new computer. by they didn't verify you bought a new computer so it was $15 for everybody: a brand new, shiny, full, working key.
