Yeah, it's pretty uncommon for it to be diagnosed quickly now even so I'm sure it's been around a while.
I used to freak the fuck out if I saw a tick on me, but when your in MN and spend a lot of time in the woods and outside you get used to it.

Yeah, it's deer ticks that carry the disease.  Apparently Native Americans, back in the day, had learned to stay away from deer on the east coast during certain times of the year because it was more likely to be contracted then.
