Ariel Castro sentenced today (kidnapper)

Just heard about this for the first time. This man kidnapped three girls in their late teens/early 20s in the beginning of the 2000s and held them captive in his home for about a decade. A few months ago, when Castro was out, one of the women noticed that she had access to more of the house than usual, and she began screaming for help. Eventually a neighbor helped her escape by breaking the exterior and the police were eventually called. The following fact really struck me: "A DNA test confirmed that Castro fathered Berry's 6-year-old daughter.[76] Knight told police that Castro had impregnated her at least five times and had induced miscarriages each time through beatings and starvation."

This man was sentenced to life with no parole plus 1,000 years.

I'm surprised things are moving this fast. I expected to have to keep hearing about him for the next year like Zimmerman or some shit.

Doubtful.. Given his crimes he'll probably be segregated for his protection.. I'm sure eventually someone will get to him, but the hell everyone imagines, doesn't really exist according to countless people who I've talked to who actually went to prison.

Well, prison itself is hell, but I mean the deeper level of hell everyone assumes child killers/rapists get from the other prisoners.
