Zyprexa and opiate withdrawal
    #18584138 -

For the past 3 and half days or so I was feeling really weak like drained of energy and my appetite had severely diminished (I can’t even eat toast). At first I thought it was the flu, or heat stroke or even a stomach bug. Then I had an anxiety attack outside and yesterday I spent the whole day in bed, delirious and feeling as if I was falling down a dizzy spiraling staircase. I hadn’t taken my meds for almost week now so I just drank cups upon cups of pod tea to cure the nausea and pains in my limbs. My head was heavy and my heart was throbbing. Typing this post is a laborious task…I ain’t thinking straight anymore. However, thank god I didn’t suffer a psychotic episode/mental breakdown
:feelsbadman:
The symptoms slowly crept upon me like a craft spider and then on top of that the pod withdrawal was on the front porch and yesterday it all hit me like a slap to the face. I was in bed rolling in pain and flipping the blanket on and off. My eyes were bloodshot. No words can suffice the pain and horrible feeling of this withdrawal…I’ve beaten a pod withdrawal, but this combo fucked me up big time…no more of this shit. I’ve been on these meds for at least a year now.

Today I feel like 25%. It’s getting much worse hour after hour. No appetite. No sex drive. No willpower/energy to stand or talk. Diarrhea and Nausea, and fever and shaky limbs. My dad is suspicious telling me “had I taken something” and I replied “no” just to shut him up. I don’t want to tell him I hadn’t been taking my meds for the past week or so. Anyway Today I got really fed up and couldn’t endure the withdrawal anymore so I decided to take my medicine. Worse feeling ever…it was a combination of pod and Olanzapine withdrawal, which is by far the worse withdrawal, I have ever encountered.

:feelsweirdman:

I am tired of being a drug fueled human being…I am sick of it and want to get better now…I am slowly coming off the meds right now (I am down to 5mg), but I guess I became impatient and sort of went ahead and stopped taking it without the consent of doctor. I don’t want to tell him otherwise he’ll say I can’t handle my shit and increase the dosage which would eventually make me dependant on the drug, but I don’t want to be.
I am a dumbass thinking I could beat this…I wasn’t strong enough. Do you guys have any suggestions as to how to beat this withdrawal from tranquilizers after I get off them for good?

PS: I am sorry about venting my emotions and troubles here

You should have tapered all the way down. It was a bad idea to stop like that.. now you're going to have to deal with it.

I wouldn't recommend you start taking it again. You could wake up a lot more messed up tomorrow than you are now.

I'm familiar with opiate, benzo, and SNRI withdrawal because i've been through them all without tapering. SNRI probably beats the others by a long shot. I can't even imagine what it's like coming off an anti-psychotic.. although that is probably next on my list but i'm going to not be stupid. I'll taper this time.

IMO, Benzos would probably help you for the first week. After that I recommend you change your diet and start trying to get some type of exercise in everyday. Don't take the benzos anymore after the first week.

Just think about this.. if you tough this out and beat it, 3 months from now you'll look back and be glad you did what you did.

Agreed I have been through SNRI, benzo, opiate and meth withdrawal and that is the order from worst withdrawal to least. SNRI withdrawal really fucked with me and it took a few months before I was really getting back to normal.

All of those drugs are in a league of there own.. but the dreaded 'brain zaps' you get from SNRI's clearly are worse than any of the other drugs.

And for me it would be SNRI, opiate, benzos. Mainly because I had to withdraw from suboxone. Had bad withdrawals for 2 weeks, then went through 4 months of paws. It was hell on earth everyday of my life then.
