Journaling can lead to a greater state of mental well-being by increasing one's ability to communicate thereby making potentially stronger, and maybe more frequent connections.

I started writing notes about martial arts some 18 years ago. I would smoke pot and every time I practiced I'd think of things and write them down. I used to write some of the funniest stuff!
Now, I keep an everyday life journal and a martial arts journal. I wouldn't ever want anyone to get ahold of my martial arts journal.
I wish I had kept a trip journal. I used to have all my trips memorized, but now they have faded over time into what is just the essence of the trips.
