Re: Wetness of Perlite

BTW, the Perlite is wet for the bottom 1 inch and dry the top 1 inch. I maybe thought it should be damp. Im not really noticing any humidity, I thought I did yesterday, but i was wrong.

You want all of your perlite to be wet. But if it is covered in standing water, then it cannot release moisture into the air. An easy way to accomplish this is to put your perlite in the terrarium. Then completely cover it with water to get it wet. Now suck out almost all of the water with a turkey baster. Leave only a thin layer of water at the bottom. Only add more water when this layer is almost gone. In this way you should be able to maintain a good level of humidity provided your terrarium has a good seal.

Good call... Thanks a lot. I'm going to do that, I might still have too much water, i'm trying to fix it. Thanks for the advice.
