How Wet is Too Wet- Perlite Question

Hello Kiddies; Just a quick query;
My High Priest is lining a 20 gal rubbermaid with perlite, and he wants to know how much water to add - I had suggested enough to keep the perlite wet, with out standing water- He did this, then noticed the perlite was kinda dryish a day later, prolly do to evap...so, should he add more water, or just mist casing each day with H2O2? - BTW Casing was just put in a day ago, is it risky to keep opening the top of chamber- there is a thick top casing layer of peat/perlite., I am hoping this will provide enough of a contam barrier Am I mistaken?..Any answers will be relayed to the Temple Keepers.

When you first set up your perlite alot of your water will evaporate to fill your growing chamber. As a rule of thumb that I use, I generally fill my water level to half of that of the perlite. You will need to add additional water every few days to maintain this level. If you can maintain the perlite with the apropriate amount of water you will never have to worry about misting.
