So an acquaintance on my FB shared one of their friend's status's, which looked like this:

"Whats up with everyone smoking wax now instead of actual flower? well guess what..the long term effects of smoking that wax is.. FUCKED UP...first off when you smoke wax your smoking 20% up to even 40% butane depending who did the extraction and how good they are(most shops don't care about quality that want quantity so they have their wax contains the most butane)...but notice the effects it takes when you hit that stuff. Its not like when you smoke good hash..in fact, to me, it feels more or less like your huffing glue or paint and the reason why is because smoking wax causes Acute Intoxication. When the butane enters the lungs it goes to your bloodstream and within seconds produce intoxication. Then ya start to feel dizziness, hypertension , increased heart rate, impaired coordination, disorientation, thick slurred speech, delirium, and hallucinations, Depending upon the butane hash, recovery may take minutes to hours or may not occur at all. first time smokers can be fatal because of oxygen displacement from red blood cells, hypoxia and asphyxiation. And when its all over you feel tired as fuck and deep sleep usually follows the initial "high"unpleasant symptoms reported after the use of wax include agitation, seizures, ataxia, headache, and dizziness.
So what you may think are the effects of some potent THC is actually the butane fucking up your system. And if you smoke it on the daily it destroys motor neurons that send commands from the brain to the hands and feet. As these motor neurons fail, varying degrees of motor impairment result, including a decreased ability to perform manual and mental tasks. But the worst part about smoking wax is the killer..Neurotoxic Effects!! and this comes long term..you may not know it now..but later its gonna bite you in the ass for Permanent cerebral and irreversible cerebellar neurological disability is the most well known toxic effect of smoking Butane Hash on the daily. Long-term abusers are at significant risk for a neurological syndrome consisting of memory loss, cognitive impairment, sleep disturbance, depression, anxiety, and personality changes.( how many people know that homie that smokes wax and acts weird now?). Finally, butane hash carries, freon (from aerosol propellants) and toluene (from glues) that hypersensitize cardiac cells to norepinephrine, the neurotransmitter that stimulates cardiac contractions. Inhalants interfere with the transport of oxygen by interfering with the binding or release of oxygen by red blood cells. The resulting hypoxia also causes cardiac cell hypersensitivity to norepinephrine. Norepinephrine sensitivity and hypoxia can cause cardiac muscles to defibrillate or begin contracting randomly. A syndrome called Sudden Sniffing Death (SSD) occurs without warning, and discontinuation of smoking wax does not reverse the sequence of events. Victims of SSD often appear to sense that something is wrong, and run away from the source or site where they were inhaling, before collapsing and dying.... so ladies and gentlemen please tag your friends who smoke this poison and let em know..DABBING and SMOKING THE WAX CAN BE A DEADLY GAME..and why should this be? because WEED is not deadly whatsoever..so the next time..remember to pass on the wax hit and just spark up a joint with some marijuana flower and bubble bag hash."

Is this just some unfounded, reactionary new drug Hysteria? I've only smoked wax twice thus far but I've never had any of these negative side effects. & the people I do know that smoke it frequently don't seem to be getting any dumber :shrug:
