i think i heard about this chick a few years ago. didn't they try to test her abilities and when she failed, she blamed it on bad air or something? i'm really not surprised that she took it to the end. she deserves a darwin award.

A few years ago a skeptic group did an interview with a guru in India who made the same bullshit claims. He lived under a tree and claimed never to eat or drink water or even sleep.

Conveniently, his tree was surrounded by a high fence to keep people away after hours but the skeptics set up a night-vision camera with a long lens a kilometer away and filmed him overnight without his knowledge.

Imagine their surprise when they caught the lying slime red-handed in the middle of the night sneaking drinks and eating a bowl of food, followed up with a candy bar. When they tried to show the local villagers the footage, they damned near got themselves lynched. This is the same team that exposed another Indian guru who claimed he could make water from air by inverting a vase to show it's empty, then turning it upright, waving his hands and next time he inverted the vase, water poured out. The skeptics showed how the vase had a trap chamber with the water in it all the time. They nearly got lynched there too.

It's dangerous work bringing the truth to those who claim to seek the truth.

BTW, these kinds of beliefs are not that rare. There is a regular poster here who insists his guru is a 2,000 year old man and that there are many more people walking the Earth who are more than 400 years old. I guess no depth of stoopidity shocks me any more, but it's still strange to hear these people's beliefs and know that they are dead serious about them.

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

Well it is true that there are probably some beings on this planet that have been alive since 500 AD. However, they are sponges and jellyfish.

:nono: Can't forget them Bristlecone pines.

The King Clone creosote bush ring is pretty damn interesting too.

I would not be surprised if life this long is possible for humans.
Most people forget that aging is essentially rotting due to our capacities for cellular regeneration giving out.
This being so, I'd be even more skeptical of any fucker who looks old and makes such a claim.
