P. Semilanceata?

Just found this little shroomie on my lawn today :smirk:


A. Habitat: Found alone on lawn. Upstate New York.
B. Gills: Light tan/brown. I think every other tooth is attatched to the stem (at least visually).
C. Stem: 4cm, brown near bottom, almost white/very light tan near cap, hollow, thin. No noticable bruising (at least after 5-10 mins. Is there any specif way to bruise it? I think I need help with that part) Also a little slimy when moist.
D. Cap: a little less than 1cm, Tan on top darker near edge (slight brownish ring at edge), bell shaped + umbonate.
E. Spore Print color: Will let you know in 12-24 hours :wink: I JUST found it and got excited because to me (and my untrained eye) it looks like a liberty cap, and I just wanted to post it as soon as I could, as it might be the first active shroom I've found, even tho it's only a little shroom. Anyway thanks again people!

I believe they are Panaeolus foenisecii, not active.

Hmm, the spore print was a dark brown with a slight hint of purple though. I know very damn well I'm a newbie to all of this, but don't all the characteristics match up with liberty caps?
Also, isn't there, even if very insignificant amounts, psilocybin in Panaeolus foenisecii shrooms?

I'm damn determined to find me some active shrooms! :laugh:

it's debatable..
apparently some specimens have tiny amounts, and some don't

definitely not P. Semilanceata, the gills aren't dark enough, its too broad, the 'nipple' isn't the right shape/size, the cap doesn't curl under enough, the stem looks a bit too thick, P. Semilanceata bruises easily.

All five of the original chemical analysis of Panaeolina foenisecii which originally reported psilocine and/or psilocybine have since been disproven as false positives due to mixed collections of mushrooms.

panaeolina foenisecii Maire (Panaeolus foenisecii, Psathyrella foenisecii and/or Psilocybe foenisecii), all are Panaeolina foenisecii and they are not psychoactive at all no matter how many are consumed.
