fresh mushrooms - any different?
    #1776310 -

I expect to have the opportunity to come into some fresh shrooms fairly soon. It may be inconvenient to store and use them before they go bad, so I have a couple of questions.

What is the best way to keep fresh mushrooms? Is there a good way that doesn't involve refrigeration? And...

Is tripping on fresh shrooms any different from dried? Is this worth any serious effort?

I actually have some fresh shrooms picked this morning their now in a wendys large drink cup with tyvek stretched over the top and rubber-banded. How long can I expect them to keep today is sunday and I need them to keep till next tuesday will they make it???? Also if so is there a noticeable loss in potency???

Why not just put the shrooms in a drying chamber?

Because I don't want to dry them, I want to keep them and eat them on tuesday which is 9 days from now the dried ones just don't taste the same and dont' make me feel the same but that's just personal taste.

if you aren't using them within 24 hours you should dry them or they will rot. Within 24 hours, use an open paper bag in a refrigerator but NOT a freezer. They will turn into mushy slime in the freezer, and the psylocybin will oxidize.

Gotta dry what you're not gonna eat right away, they'll rot. Try mixing the dry ones in with something you like so as to mask the taste; peanut butter's popular.
