preserving fresh mushrooms

I just bought about an ounce of fresh mushrooms that i want to use for a festival that is coming up in about 9 days. My question is: should I go through the whole process of drying them, or should they be okay to keep in a paper towel and an unsealed baggie. Thanks.

Do not keep them in a baggie. They will trot.

you can store fresh shrooms in an icebox as long as you do not freeze them. They can stay fresh in a paper bag, top close for 7 days or so. Otherwise dry them out in open air for two to three days and then keep in a paper bacg in a drawer away form light anbd heat. That is how I dry edible shrooms.

And you should too.
