Money is at the core of human nature. People need incentive to work. That's why capitalism is brilliant. Its creates wealth out of the incentive to work.

You do not have the ability to make money. Money is made by the banks through fractional reserve dilution of the money supply. All other economic activity including all "money" are just ways to redistribute real wealth.

Our monetary system is bullshit, money or wealth is not. Accumulating wealth through hard work and responsible living is the key to a successful culture, relying on someone else for my future well being is bullshit.

What is inheritance then?

What about wealth that is gained through subversive manipulation or irresponsible exploitation of others?

Who gets to say what is acceptable?

We do need standards of how people, animals, and our environment are treated.  We've seen that when people are encouraged to make profit for themself they will put the well-being of others at risk.  We all rely on eachother to stay civil and treat everyone with dignity, otherwise you must revert to using violence to enforce your will, and that is no society I want to live in.

If people are not treated with dignity, not treated as equals, how can you expect them to play along?

Oh fun. Another financial problem.

I blame this on the fact that kids with diplomas can only get minimum salary jobs if they get lucky.

Just fucking get your PhD, declare bankruptc, start work a super high paying job, waitfor  that 7 year period to end and then just buy a huge house cash, then borrow what you need to buy income properties and become a multimillionaire.

The banks have been fucking people over, time to fuck over the banks. Every man for himslef

I'm confused.  Some person decides that they want to buy something but they don't have the money for it.  They ask, freely and of their own will, for a bank to give them the money on the promise that it will be repaid with a little extra on top.  The bank considers their request and presents them with a contract that spells out the terms and conditions for each party to follow.  This contract must be signed by both parties.  The bank has been quite magnanimous, in my opinion, especially in the case of student loans which are given purely on the speculation that little Todd will pursue a degree path that will allow him to recoup the bank's investment and then some more for Todd.  Well done Mr. Friendly banker (who, by the way, are only the custodians of depositors' money after all).

But........Todd does not pursue a worthwhile program of studies.  Say he is a social science major, one of a million.  But there are only 50,000 new jobs for these mutts, which is fairly common knowledge.  But the degree is easy as fuck and he can party for four years.  Todd is likely going to find that his education has done fuck all to enhance his earnings potential.  Did I mention that Todd decided that he absolutely had to go to a high priced private institution that charged $44,000 annual tuition (Oberlin) alone as opposed to a state university that charges $7,500 (Stony Brook).

Or we have the example of Mary.  Mary loves to draw and is wonderfully proficient at it.  She loves it so much that she spends $31,000 a year for tuition alone at SVA.  She has just about zero job prospects when she graduates.  But at least she is better off than the Art History major from Oberlin.

The people who are fucking students are the people providing the shitty product.  The most common grade is "A".  There are more administrators now than there are professors

Quote:
One typical example of administrative bloat and its consequences was illustrated by the American Association of University Professors and featured in a 2012 report by John Hechinger of Bloomberg News.  Between 2001 and 2010, the number of tenure and tenure-track faculty at Purdue, of one of America's great land grant universities, increased 12 percent while the number of graduate teaching assistants actually declined by 26 percent.  Student enrollments in this decade increased by about 5 percent.

During the same period, though, the number of administrators employed by the university increased by an astonishing 58 percent and resident tuition rose from just under $1400 to nearly $9000 per year in a pattern that appears highly correlated with administrative growth.  One $172,000 per year associate vice provost had been hired to oversee the work of committees charged with considering a change in the academic calendar-a change that had not yet even been approved.  Since the average Purdue graduate leaves school with about $27,000 in debt, the salary of this functionary is equivalent to the education loans of six students.

This new administrator blithely told the Bloomberg reporter, "My job is to make sure these seven or eight committees are aware of what's going on in the other committees."  At the same school, the chief marketing officer earns $253,000 and the chief diversity officer $198,000 per year.  The marketing officer spent $500,000 to "rebrand" the university, developing the slogan, "We are Purdue. Makers, all. What we make moves the world forward."  Very catchy, indeed!  Perhaps the marketing department could develop a slogan that would help explain to parents and students why they must take on more and more debt to pay the salaries of ever-growing hordes of administrative parasites.

There is more shit to curl your toes in the whole article.  I've got an idea.  Let's put the colleges on the hook for the failure of Todd and Mary to repay their loans.  They are, after all, promising these little morons that their product will enhance their lives and increase their earning potential by enough to justify the tuition plus the lost 4 years of earning and training they could have gotten in an actual job.  Charlatans and mountebanks.

prisoner wants to know how buying pants is in fact a contract
"A contract is an agreement entered into voluntarily by two or more parties, each of whom intends to create one or more legal obligations between or among them. The elements of a contract are offer and acceptance by competent persons having legal capacity who exchange consideration to create mutuality of obligation, and, in some circumstances, do so in writing."
when you buy pants you are party 1 and the store is party 2.  you agree to the obligation of paying for it by taking it out of the store and the store agrees you can take it out of the store if you pay.  in the simplest sense the receipt is the written agreement.  does this make sense?

if you think that you shouldn't be responsible to help kids, even if they aren't your own you are a twisted man, already to corrupt to change your mind.  maybe i will go out and help kids and change their opinions, show that some people still care... does anyone else?
