Student Loans
    #6799380 -

Hi,

I would like to go back to college, but am wondering what my different options are for student loans.  Last time I went to school I had a stafford loan which was sent directly to my school.

When I go back, I would like to live off campus so I don't get ripped off by rediculously expensive dorms.

What type of loan would I need in order for the payment to get sent directly to me, so that I could pay for tuition with it, and use the remainder for rent, and other living expenses?

I would appreciate any advice, or suggestions you have.

Thanks!

The majority of student loans you can get these days go directly to you. I have my loan through Huntington National Bank and they just cut me a check for the amount I ask for. I then pay my tuition, rent, books, etc. with it.

Getting student loans is ridiculously easy, but be wary of fucking yourself by over-spending what appears to be free money.
At least, that's what I did.
When I was young and irresponsible I used "student loan" money to live in Europe for years and now I owe more money than I care to think about. I don't regret it, though.

Just go online and fill out a FAFSA:
www.fafsa.ed.gov
The interest rates are mostly as low as they can be, my loan is administered by Sallie Mae but the loan itself is paid to Deutsche Bank for some unknown reason.

Ah, I see.

When I called Sallie Mae one time, the guy I spoke with said the loan was from "Douchey Bank"
So of course that's what it is known as in my house.
