PH Levels
    #1751432 - 07/26/03 07:36 PM (20 years, 6 months ago)

I would just like some gerneral information about PH levels...Whats optimum for a STraw/Dung bulk tek, what raises/lowers PH, how do you check it, etc, etc...Thanks very much, if there is another thread on this topic, a URL to it would also be greatly appreciated. I searched the shroomery site, but came up empty handed!
Thanks again

PH adjustment isn't need for straw/poo,lime,hydrated lime, oyster shells will bring the PH down.optimal for shrooms is 7.5-8 you'll need a PH meter you can find them at lowes or a gardening shop.when using peat as a casing layer you need to use something to lower the PH level.any other bulk substrate you should be alright.if your going to use anything use lime or oyster shells it's longer lasting than hydrated lime.HL is very potent shit you can fuck some shit up if you don't have a PH meter.
